The south is more widespread and it has 80% of the black people living there. Its a numbers game and the south has had a 20 year head start in the independent shyt. Troy ave better go to PA and NJ and even CT and Boston with that East Coast sound, cause I know that the trap heads sure don't like no traditional boom bap beat and NY slang in their cars.

at the end of the day, its really not even the south. its mostly just the atlanta market thats prospering.

ATL still has a stronghold on the rap game for so long that it is :mindblown:

to back it up, i remember people on here were saying how 3-6 mafia was blackballing aspiring local artists. keeping them off the radio in memphis and such.

and then people wonder why memphis never made the big splash that some were expecting. they took an east coast approach. and now memphis is just a footnote in the south's tablet.

sad to see an old head borderline legend in Nore complaining about not getting record spins...

come on breh, you to old for that

i just don't understand how anyone would want to become a rapper...i mean it would be cool to do it as a hobby and on the side...but to try and make a living at it...so you can be 40 + talking about a radio station not supporting your regions records...

sad...thank god fear, asthma, and nerdiness forced me into that IT cert life

Unless you a well rounded producer that can rap, don't bother becoming a rapper anymore.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
fukk all that bullshyt. Nore said himself he wasn't complaining when the bullshyt was working in his favor, now that its not he wants to cry? fukk outta here. This nikka said all we used to have to do is take a record to Flex and if he dropped a bomb on it that's it, it gets played in Philly then the whole east coast. These cats sound lazy as fukk go and work your shyt, or make some undeniable shyt. Its hard for me to believe a lot of these guys were hustlers for real because these nikkas are looking for handouts. NY used to refuse to play Southern shyt. nikkas aint stop grinding tho, we started bumping outta trunks (as did the West). This nikka used Juicy J as an example like its easy to become Juicy J. nikkas thought Juicy J was done a few times, he found a 3rd or 4th wind signing with Wiz even though alot of folks thought it was dumb because he was already a boss. Its a million nikkas from Memphis that's been rapping since 1988 and I bet Nore can't name 6 of them. Why don't he tell Playa Fly how easy it is to blow from Memphis. I used to laugh at that Wayne line "Stop being rapper racist" but thats exactly what it is. Ny nikkas sound like old white people talking about the good ol days. Replace south with black and NY with White. They setup all those rules and checklist to not give out of town nikkas spins, yall ate off it and now yall want the same out of town nikkas to help yall change the rules? His argument is null and void because he didnt take that stance when he was eating and our nikkas were not. The biggest nikkas down here didn't get radio support initially. I remember they used to refuse to play Tip, Jeezy, or Tity Boi. They didn't complain they hung their hat on that shyt. And bragged about being the hottest nikka with no radio support. Good music>>>cosign
Why u nikkas keep talkin this undeniable music shyt when the shyt the gets played all day ranges from ok to garbage half the time?..y'all actin like these nikkas is makin classic music..and nikkas is talkin bout gettin support from our OWN TOWN..there's NOTHING wrong with asking for that and regardless of how u feel we treated y'all a million years ago which is bullshyt anyway cause y'all got play up here..UR making his exact point..these nikkas grinded and had support from THEIR town until they actually blew up nationally...we don't even got the shyt at a root level..we don't get the support at home..is that so hard to understand for some of u nikkas?..

I think the problem is that NY rappers are so use to using their friendships and connections to get they're music played on the radio that they dont understand that times have changed. Unless you have sum type of buzz for a record on the street or the net they're not goin to put it in rotation no matter who you are. Whens the last time NY radio broke a record anyway?
