- take the scholarship and abide by the rules of amateurism

All football does is make the University President job easier.

The more lucrative the football program the less Fundraising(his actual job) he has to do.

They can afford to throw it away. Football isn't needed for these colleges.

The only fair model would be them negotiating a contract to receive a portion of the revenue that their services bring in.

Here's the thing, if the football program is carrying the athletic dept...I have zero issue with equality getting thrown out the window....but this unionization if it holds true would effectively end all athletics other than football and mens basketball.

Basketball isn't bringing in any money.

Kentucky Football makes more than Kentucky Basketball.

Its only effecting private schools, for now.

Things will get interesting. The biggest problem is, whatever they're fighting for, the other athletes in the other sports have every right to ask for the same thing. It will collapse on it own. Not taking into account title IX yet either.

The NCAA at some point will allow athletes to make their own money. But, that will only effect the best athletes. Interesting times ahead.
