Cuban might have been referring to the wrong level of football

Why tho? Thought it was all about the student and education??? You sound like a uber capitalist. And they aren't unionizing for pay people. They are forming for a seat at the table to be able to negotiate on things like being able to keep their schollys after they get injured and such. Lord forbid the cats from Grambling didn't try this first cause some of you nikkas would've been supporting the institution over the labor but whateverNorthwestern doesn't need football, I'd fukking kick them all off scholarship
I had work study, it was 12 dollars a hour. fukk that, but for real, 25 dollars a hour would be nice for most college kids. That's reasonable.Work studies pay far above minimum wage and they'd still get a full scholarship which is more than what they get now.

Wrong. This puts an end to college athleticwouldnt this effectively put an end to title IX?
That's exactly what's gonna happen. Players will line up to take their spots anyway.
Thats exactly what I would do If I was the School
I don't know about that, a lot of the kids could at least make a little bit of change doing local commercials. Only maybe a couple of kids per year would get any type of real endorsement though; really, there aren't THAT many professional athletes with national endorsement deals.think you are overestimating the value a college athlete has from an endorsement standpoint

-Then they got to start dealing with the tax man...that nice tuition at Stanford is 60K a year? how much do you owe the Tax man. Better take your @ss to state U.
-You were killing people in HS, now you in college and you can't get off the bench? pack dem bags and go back to the boonies you came from. We don't owe u shyt, not even a diploma.

If its about scholarships then the schools should just give the athlete 6 year scholarships.
The athletes are trying to get guaranteed 5 year scholarships from what I read. No more making a player transfer or kicking them off if they get injured or don't pan out as good as thought.
I'd be all for that but I can't trust a dude like Saban to honestly abide by it. He is basically the athletic dept. Plus a town like Tallahassee where the TPD seems to have a hard on for the football team especially would be arresting dudes just for the hell of itThere also has to be leverage from the athletic dept too. If a kid shows up and doesn't put in the required effort, gets arrested etc- they should have the ability to yank a scholarship.
