there's really no solution to any of this besides blowing it all up and getting rid of college sports entirely
The big sports (football and basketball) just need to go fully developmental league and let the smaller sports have their scholarships.

If I was Vince McMahon or any upstart with Money.
I would create a Minor League Football as an alternative to division 1 football right now
I don't know about that, a lot of the kids could at least make a little bit of change doing local commercials. Only maybe a couple of kids per year would get any type of real endorsement though; really, there aren't THAT many professional athletes with national endorsement deals.
If we want to keep it all the way funky, they should just get a % of the revenue they bring in. Find a happy median so the big schools can't over compensate but also won't keep the smaller institutions in the red. You can't tell me the two person swim team deserves the same amount of dough the star football/basketball player whether they be male or female. And not every school needs to have every sport. Keep some of that shyt intramural
b) If it became public knowledge that one guy got the lion's share of the pay because he was the star QB, if I was the backup QB, what would stop me from pulling a Tonya Harding on that guy so I can get that spot? Things you'll do for money.

Not saying he should get the lion share of the money but if the sport he's excelling in is the reason for new dorms, athletic facilities and increase in booster contributions than that sports team (not the individual) should be getting their fair share based on their worth to the program. Of course there should be stipulations (I.e. GPA, class attendance, conduct, etc) tied into ita) how would you determine this? Every school is different. In some schools, the star basketball or football player ain't shyt compared to the star hockey player. shyt, in Trinity College, if you play squash, you get the most p*ssy on campus.

Tonya Harding risked jail time over a spot on an Olympic team her and Nancy both got anyway.going to jail?![]()
It's that easy.b) If it became public knowledge that one guy got the lion's share of the pay because he was the star QB, if I was the backup QB, what would stop me from pulling a Tonya Harding on that guy so I can get that spot? Things you'll do for money.
I dont know how I feel about this yet.
I'd like to know where the money is going. Like U of Texas....they're making hundreds of millions off their football program. Where is all that money going?
NOBODY will ever ride with minor league football.

Thats extreme. Whats stopping you from going to work right now and pulling a tonya harding on your coworker thats up for the same promotion you're up for? You're pretty much saying the only reason college players dont intentionally injure other college players....on their same team...is because they have no immediate monetary gain from it.
