It's the sole purpose of football since TV money has come into playSo the sole purpose of a women's fencing team is to make the university rich???

They are getting paid based on the results that they don't control and the ones who do control the outcome get nothing
It's pretty apparent that college football probably shouldn't exist period
But both the NCAA and the NFL are in collusion to keep there free minor league system alive
So fukk providing educations to thousands of kids who have unique talents. Guess you're against band scholarships too. Those kids use their talents to get an education. It shouldn't be cut or the possibility of being cut because a few guys who shouldn't even be In school want to get paid.

They act like those kids don't exist. They think in terms of the 20-30 guys they see not the thousands they don't. I'm willing to bet other sports have higher graduation rates and higher gpas than the basketball and football team. They use their scholarships and it means something to those cats.
This isn't an argument. There's no argument that because the first and second men profits on the third man's oppression that somehow the latter's oppression should continue, if only to profit the first and second men. That's an absurd argument. Players and universities will just have to find alternative ways to fund their ambitions without resorting to oppression. If they cannot reconcile a morally right way to continue, so be it. For whatever reason, cacs think the exploitation of nikkas is reasonable to an extent cacs never hold or themselves.
lets sacrifice thousands for 20-30 makes sense. You reasoning is so circular. You acknowledge the system can't exist without the few elite athletes who probably don't even belong in school, yet you think those elite athletes should still be forced to attend schools to subsidize those other kids.
It's beyond absurd.
since when do people willingly sign up for oppression?lets sacrifice thousands for 20-30 makes sense.
YesCollege coaches have no control on results of their own team? You serious Clark?
the system doesn't exist without a few elite schools. the athlete is interchangeable at UT, OK, Bama, USC, wherever. Does Texas football suffer without 1 recruit? Are these schools all the Cleveland Cavs post Bron?

Yes
Coaches
don't control the result of the game.
The only privilege non-profit making athletes "sacrifice" for taking their deserved scholarships is the same privilege we all us non-athletes "sacrifice" when we don't get an academic scholarship. There's no obligation to give non-profit making athletes anything, just like there's no obligation to disseminate academic scholarships to everyone, and so there's no unreasonable "sacrifice" thousands of non-profit making people suffer for not succeeding that's anymore unreasonable than what I sacrifice for paying tuition when the genius scholarships don't. Profit-making athletes shouldn't have to "sacrifice" their livelihood to make room for non-profit athletes. I guess the non-profit making athletes will need to find alternative options for funding. They'll live, breh.
how are they sacrificing their livelihood? other people don't put in work also?If the athletes are interchangeable then the market will reflect the player's low value in salaries. Your concerns about paying players will be allayed when players are paid and don't rack in anything because, as you imply, players are worthless. I have my doubts over how replaceable Jameis Winston, Johnny Manziel, Sammy Watkins and Teddy Bridgewater are to their schools but maybe you're right. In that case you shouldn't mind paying the players the peanuts you think they're ultimately worth.![]()
Will FSU, Clemson, TAMU football suffer when those players leave? Were they complete shyt and struggling with bills before they got there? No because programs are built on school name and alumni not individual players. Michigan filling up 100k+ no matter if it's Charles Woodson or one of the bums they had in their secondary last year.
I don't mind players getting paid as long as it can be done fairly and it's not at the expense of other sports. which i think it will be in the future when they start talking about how much everyone will have to be paid. cause while football usually brings in the most it also has the most players and eats the most budget and those guys are gonna want the most so things will be cut
If players aren't worth anything then you shouldn't mind their being paid. Nothing will change except they'll get earnings, however scant this might be, for labor like any working person does. Players should be paid according to what they help bring in, and they should have no obligation to help pay for other sports. I am paid according to job title and position, and my pay goes towards no one else but me. If someone else is in straits and needs money they can make their own money, get a loan, get a new job, etc. The same standard and separation should apply for football and other sports. If the universities don't like players being paid, colleges can cancel the football program and soak up the losses.
