I completely forgot about Russ :dead:

That’s what Russ diehards and apologists don’t understand. You baking a cake and got a can of onions that you’ve been mandated to use. You might be able to do it and hide it but it’s never practical

And he’s got HOF cache and a team full of youngins and foreigners who are probably scared to step on his toes. So you can’t tell him shyt.

All this ‘I knew it was over’ is horsehit people are just conditioned by the modern unsatisfied dopamine addict culture. Almost every great coach/team would have never happened if they bailed at the first few signs of adversity

This nuggets team itself was seemingly against a brick walk before winning a chip. Tatum and Jaylen brown just HAD to be broken up, etc

God forbid 28 year old Jamaal Murray gets healthy and they run it back another year with their top 25 player all time. Dudes talking like Denver needs to ‘blow it up’ :snoop:

1. Booth overpaid bums and gave up a bunch of draft capital just to get rid of them. Braun is the only draft pick that panned out. The writing was on the wall when he entered the final year of his deal without an extension heading into the season.

2. Malone refuses to play or develop rookies. He relies too much on the Jokic–Jamal two-man game, doesn’t run plays for anyone else, and runs his veterans into the ground. Multiple players have spoken out about this, even before Booth became the GM. He would’ve been fired a long time ago if he didn’t win that championship.

Nobody should be surprised by this.
I am on record in saying the asset management for this squad has been straight malpractice. But was that the GM or cheap ownership.

Most coaches are gonna ride with proven vets, especially when they won you a chip.

well they'll have that chance because nobody's tryna trade for Porter or Murray. Wanting Denver to blow it up is just coming from vultures hoping Jokic wanna latch on elsewhere.

coaches now are gonna have to accept that everybody can't stay. If he wanted KCP to stay, cool. Gordon gotta go. If he wanted Gordon to stay too, cool. Murray gotta go. If he wanted Murray, cool. MPJ gotta go. Even if you wanna see them live in the 2nd apron, it's designed to where your supporting case better be cheap and useful, which can only really come from the draft.

The only real dumb move they had the power to not do was extend Nnaji. Everything else was either bad luck or a byproduct of having to deal with not having as many picks because they went for it by getting Gordon. Milwaukee gotta deal with that too.

Yeah Malone is like Thibbs, he hates playing rookies.

This was a bad GM meets bad coach pairing. Booth lost key players such as KCP and Brown while clearly overpaying Porter when I am pretty sure no team was going to pay him that much??? So he drafted bunch of meh talent he envisioned would become successful if given more minutes.

Meanwhile Malone refused to play all those rookies any meaningful minutes and it became clear last year how Nuggets were gassed up by the 2nd round already. Two of your three top players are injury prone, just give those rookies some sort of minutes even if they are not so good. Better take couple more L's in the season than put your hopes in like 7 man rotation heading to the playoffs.

He didn't overpay Porter. That happened before he was GM.
