Haha got damn. Mega did it again :pachaha:

His argument had a logical fallacy(Nobody is poppin on the west besides Kenny) and he was still able to put up thread numbers :heh:

breh, it's all about presentation.

i put myself in a creative space, where posters will give aggressive content, unknowingly enabling me to appeal to my audience.

it wasn't about that Kendrick was the only one hot on a national level, but rather the catalysts for him to ever get to that stage :lupe:

it's levels to this shyt breh :youngsabo:

:whoa:

The only success LA has had since Game is Kendrick Lamar..he's backed by a Dre co-sign. Tyga is a C level star and he had to run down south to get on.

I understand that function music is starting to bubble a lil bit and get a few spins, but until it's a actual movement of west coast artists making hits, going gold or platinum (ala ATL 02-Now or LA-90-96) ya'll should chill with this West Coast is back shyt. Nicki is a megastar and ASAP had some success too, it doesn't mean NY is poppin..same rules for yall.

Kendrick is overated,
East Coast will never comeback,
Because the South primarily,
Makes music for the lounges, clubs and adult clubs,
That is all that younh blacks want to do nowadays,
Besides riding Round and getting it.

Nah breh, the East Coast will comeback...when their rappers realize that they do have power in numbers.

if enough of them NY rappers clique up, and decided to say fukk Hot 97/Power 105 cause they don't support their own... you will see shyt change.

Everybody trying to have a corner, when they should be trying to get a co-op.

It's just a matter of time before one of these dudes wisens up to that.

Can't expect a better argument from a woeful cherry picker. :bryan:

Hip hop is to nyc, what jazz is to new orleans

Nobody debated this. nobody said otherwise. :what: Why don't you read the posts before hitting reply.

Hip hop started off very, humbly, as nothing more than nyc street culture. NY is hip hop. Im sure you can find examples of songs that display forms of primitive "rap". But rapping as we know it in the hip hop sense and hip hop culture started in new york

Pretty sure most of us know how hip-hop started out, and that isn't the debate within my posts. (Though with you only bolded responding to two lines, I'll clarify since your dumbass can't ready and say that individual things about hip-hop didn't necessarily start in NYC, making the quoted poster's argument of "if you do X then you must be biting Y" weak) The problem I have (if you read my posts or his, which you didn't) is that with NYC being the main root for hip-hop as a culture, that automatically makes it exempt from criticisms about the music, which I'll reiterate is a stupid opinion to have.

Do you honestly think NYC should be exempt from criticism when it comes to hip-hop music simply because the culture blossomed there? :usure:

New York invented Hip Hop. Any other city or state that does Hip Hop music is biting NY's style, bottom line.

This is a stupid post because other regions of the country have influenced Hip Hop's growth in the past, I don't know, THIRTY years. :dahell:

Case in point, West Coast Hip Hop was about the streets from jump street. Ever since Too $hort and Ice T, West Coast Hip Hop was about painting a vivid picture of the darker side of urban life. If it weren't for the West, NY rappers would still be rapping about sneakers, rocking house parties and developing complex rhyme schemes with the subject matter completely limited to rapping on stage and eating "sucka mc's". :what::mjpls::russ:

NY lost its prominence to the West in the early 90's because West Coast Rap was a more raw reflection of urban life at the time. When the East Coast took the crown back from Cali, your music sounded hella more serious and all those non-threatening happy a$$ songs about roller skating on Saturdays, trading rhymes on the boulevard of Linden and losing your wallet in El Segundo went out the window. :stopitslime: NY switched up its style because of Cali. Even Puffy said he was trying to make an "East Coast version of the The Chronic" with Ready to Die.

But NY is probably never coming back. Hip Hop has been dead. I can see Seattle becoming a new white Hip Hop mecca because of Crackalemore before NY "coming back". :russ: Its pretty disgusting.

Tyler the Creator did numbers without airplay. very talented kid too.

Yeah The West COast is still buzzing on the underground tip. As far as Mainstream, Not really but even that is arguable. But if you only pay attention to BET and the radio you wouldn't even know.
