Dog, you can't read.

thread is clearly about the lack of unity and disregard for networking on a local/regional level constantly displayed by NYC rappers.

because you can't read, you thought it was a " Kendrick outsold ASAP= West coast back thread"

NEW YORK CITY

Using said logic, musical poetry (which is a huge part of the music of hip-hop) predates NYC by some centuries and also had it's widespread adoption in Europe before the Columbus voyage, namely in the Greek . By your logic, NYC is biting vintage Euro wig/Greek toga swag and to criticize it would be deemed heresy.

Take away the music you have spoken word, which goes way back before NYC, and had it's spread way before anything here - in the B.C. years. It was even used in the old Greek Olympics.

man stfup

Hip hop is to nyc, what jazz is to new orleans

Hip hop started off very, humbly, as nothing more than nyc street culture. NY is hip hop. Im sure you can find examples of songs that display forms of primitive "rap". But rapping as we know it in the hip hop sense and hip hop culture started in new york

i'm not talking rap crews, i'm talking about networking.

y'all cats are notorious for not working with any of the other hot acts in NYC....cause it worked for 50 Cent, and it also led to his downfall, cause he didn't take the time to network with anybody.

LA cats had the same problem with not getting a shot to get their music on the radio...So it's not like NYC is some circumstance that nobody has ever had.

Honestly I thought this had changed lately. It's not rare to see Banks, Raekwon, Prodigy, Fab, Trav, Santana, Jones, Juelz, Busta, Havoc and Styles P jump on tracks together. shyt Ghost and Sheek just completed a whole album together. Cats are networking, it's just that none of them are in the spotlight at the moment (and majority are way past their prime).

I'm sorry but a dude from Cali telling someone how to promote music (and be like Cali rappers) is really, how do i say, maybe THEE dumbest thing i've read online. I love west coast music (mostly older stuff) so I can't hate on the west but this thread doesn't make any sense at all. Like literally, at all. I didn't even read most of the replies but this is terrible haha. And dude's response is DOM Kennedy. WHO??? HAHA. Troll game is at 300! Edit, I hope I read the first post wrong because it's gone now. If i did, carry on. Additional edit Oh snap, had dude on my ignore list haha.

these new dudes aint trying to do all that.

they're all on some "i dont fukk with anybody, but my crew" and :rudy: at the thought of working with other local artists who are hot.

So what was the purpose of this thread? You make it seem like Wc is back and you was giving ny the formula on how to do that...you telling us to do sh1t that you mfkers need to do real quick...cause Kendrick with his east coast flow is fading fast...

nikkaz want to front I see.........

This was Dom Kennedy’s second show in New York City. After last year’s packed show at the smaller hip-hop venue SOB’s, the coolest rapper from the West made the integral step to repeat it again but on a larger scale. This time he sold out The Highline Ballroom.

And serious question, why is this dude so concerned with NY? I really hope there's a story, I'm kinda interested.

:what:

it's like all of you NYC dudes don't get to learn how to properly comprehend the things you read in school.

y'all miss the entire point of shyt people say, but find all types of extraneous ( that means things that are irrelevant to the topic) shyt to :damn: about.
