None of you seem to understand the way the government or politics works. We can't even get the government to look into the police gunning down unarmed black civilians and you think a man who's faced racism at every turn while in office is just going push through a bill for wide spread reparations for 74.5 million people. Obama couldn't even get these a$$holes to pass a bill for the Flint, Michigan situation or the Zika virus in a timely manner and those were health crisis that hurt more than just black people.

Reparations should have happened immediately after the civil war.
Instead the republicans abandoned the blacks in the south and left them with jim crow.
Or after passage of the civil rights acts 1960s version.
Instead the democrats abandon them and leave them exposed to mass incarceration.

Hell it took until 2008 and a black american president to get a formal apology from the u.s. government for slavery and jim crow.

I edited it and expanded on it. It's just amazing to me how people just bytch and whine about Obama. Anytime he's spoken on race in the slightest bit he's received heavy backlash.... All he had to do was make a comment about it. How the fukk is he going to get a reparations bill through congress. Whites would be up in arms if that shyt happened. It might seriously cause a Civil War and I wish I was kidding.
This is why I never tripped. The people who got reparations, in one way or another, had to give up they soul to the USA. NOTHING is done for free.
Think about it: What can the Black populace offer the US government that hasn't already been taken? THAT is why reparations won't happen. We have nothing to offer,
and in a country built off of racism, they surely ain't about to let the issue turn into a meaningful win for us. It's like everyone forgets the disrespect and stonewalling that

I remember when the idea of having a black president was considered infeasible. If you told someone that prior to Obama being president they would have called you crazy... Everybody was just so sure we would never see a black person as president. Nothing is politically infeasible. It just has to be packaged right. Couple reparations with an end of govt social welfare programs (which cacs claim to hate) and also propose something like basic income and now you have package to pitch to the masses.
White folks ARE aware of their history in this country.. In fact one of the main conservative talking points(and I'm paraphrasing) I've heard in debates against liberals/ progressives is that they want programs to help and include everybody (like illegal immigrants etc..). They often say something to the effect of that the only group owed anything in this country are blacks (Trump even said something to that effect trying to dig at hilary). So lets not act like white folks don't know this conversation about reparations aint long overdue. There is no real logical argument against it.

Obama shouldn't even speak on this topic....we know its obv not gonna happen but in this age when Trump is talking about bringing back millions of manufacturing jobs and banning all muslims talking about whats politically feasible or not just makes him look weaker
