Fast forward today, Scorpio is announced by Microsoft which is exactly what the PS4Neo will be as already confirmed by Sony months ago and this guy is like "masterfully done, your move Sony."

The conference wasn't the best but i got surprised a little, FH3, The S and Scorpio. I think I'll hold of on that S though, which is not a bad price either, by next year I'll have a 4K tv so I'll be ready for that sting

Has Sony confirmed whether or not the PS4K is coming out this year or next? Because if it's not, I'm copping this shyt. I'm selling my Samsung UHD player. That $300 model is a fukking steal. Consoles are the best thing that could happen to 4K. Otherwise the manufactures are gonna fukking mark up the prices on these players and get away with it.

The Neo is more like a bit of an upgrade. The Scorpio is more like their next generation console that's bc and releases in parallel with the current generation.

but it's not really. They're not releasing any Scorpio only games. It's basically held back by the Xbox One.


It's not going to do anything that W10 users can't do right now with those Xbox games on Windows 10.

Them releasing Scorpio only games would be the pushback that everyone against iterative consoles harps on.

At some point in the future they cut the cord and say you can't play this new game on the old hardware anymore because it won't support it. Its like how you can't run Crysis 3 on a Pentium 4.

Microsoft is essentially kicking off the next generation in year 4 instead of year 5-6 by using the same architecture so they can run console generations in parallel. I would also imagine that a few years into the Scorpio's life a better version with better specs will be released.
