thats still more titles than many teams with elite qbs have had. sure, hall of fame qbs like brady and arod do matter, but guess what, so do other hall of famer positions. mike singletary and ray lewis mattered. if you dont have a hof qb and dont have a great defense, you're done. whereas, if you have a great defense and an average qb, you are a contender.

you must be new to football talk around here ? Im not going to any extremes. Ive had thousands of posts on here talking about how qb is an extremely overrated position that is perpetually glorified by the media and the league itself. qb should be treated just like any other non-ST position in football. football is a team game of 22 players.

thats the problem of someone who employs mike glennon. QBs getting paid insane money is exactly the reason why teams should build around defenses. You can get like two elite defensive players for the price of above average qb. but qb thirst is fukking with peoples minds. teams gave up near whole damn drafts for RGIII and Carson Wentz :mjlol:

Your argument has no consistency. Saying QB shouldn't be valued over any other position, and then forming your argument about having a great defense > having a great QB is not the same thing. Of course an entire defensive unit holds more weight than the QB, where did I argue otherwise?

qb is just another position. deal with it.

Not sure how you arrived at this conclusion after watching the 2016 season either. This isn't the days where top 5 picks were paid like superstars. If you need a qb and he's there, take him.

a non-HoF qb isnt worth a fifth of an elite defender. an elite player at any non-ST position >>>> slightly above average qb

Jadaveon Clowney was considered a better prospect than Myles Garrett. Now ask if Houston would deal him for Matt Stafford today.

you have 20 million to spend, whats better - paying an average/above average qb 20 million or paying two elite defensive players and possibly even having some leftover guap ?

having a tom brady or an aaron rodgers is a blessing- theyre hof qbs. and yet neither was selected high up in the draft and neither was drafted to a barren team.
a hof defender has the same impact. revis in his prime or ray lewis in their prime had the same effect.

why would you choose someone like stafford over two elite defenders ? exactly.

Beli just gave away Chandler Jones and Jamie Collins for nothing ... and they still won the title lmao

Oh, but he won't trade his backup QB for a ransom :ohhh:

:mjlol:

Patriots dumped most of the defensive stars they've had past 15 years while they could still play, yet Brady has never been replaced by someone younger and cheaper #message

why should I ask houston ? I wouldnt trade clowney for stafford in any circumstances. clowney cheap, young, and entering elite territory. this is the trifecta in the NFL you want to keep

shyt, I wouldnt trade clowney for tom brady right now, let alone matt fukking stafford :mjlol:

You stated that the QB position holds no special value. You think Houston turns down Stafford for Clowney?

The Houston that's been looking for a qb for their entire existence? You're beyond clueless.

asante samuel is the only defensive player that pats let go without compensation who went to have even so much as more than one pro bowl year

I might be wrong here (cant think of anyone else), but go ahead and name me three other NE defensive stars that went on and had multi pro-bowl or an all-pro year after they left NE. go ahead.
