Yall know Bernie's my top dog. But I actually felt more confident in Warren vs Trump after last night tbh. When Biden yelled right in her face about the CFPB, she didn't bat an eye and hit one of my favorite counters of the night without stepping out of character even a little bit by showing immense gratitude to Obama :mjlol:. I get the heads that were offput by her performance, but she was forced to fight back attacks from like five different people sometimes in waves on one topic. When it was just her heads up with someone, I thought she held it down well. Trump is a different animal though, that's definitely hard to predict. I just picture his lack of savvy winding up with Warren talking like an adult while Trump looks like an angry teenager doing the old stereotypical Native American sound effects or some cornball ish.

Great points and I thought the same thing about the Obama counterpunch, lol.

I thought Liz did fine actually. And I was glad to see her give props to Bernie on the donor issue.

I think Warren will do fine in the general election debates, but they also won't matter. This is about to be the most polarized election in generations. No one is going to be swayed one way or another because of a couple of debates. They'll serve as entertainment, not much more. The election will be won or lost on turnout. Warren will win because her platform and political identity speaks to the groups who Democrats need to turn out.

Facts. With a candidate like Trump debates are meaningless. His brand of politics hit so hard at the core morality of an individual that there really leaves no room for fence sitting people waiting to see how they interact with one another. Either you believe in his type of politics and you vote for him or you don't. Political theater be damned.

What i like is how Warren didn't let the attacks throw herself off the gameplan and get dragged into grandstanding moments like the Beto vs Pete stuff. She responded to attacks and kept it moving. That's going to be important against Trump and right wing media who will spew BS every single day of the general election.

You can't let yourself get bogged down in the bullshyt with Trump. Everybody already knows he's coming through lying and shyt like the one uncle at the cook out. Explain your vision to America first.

Beto - Yeah it's time to drop out, I think instead of running for senate he should be a national campaigner of sorts for the nominee plus house and senate candidates. I agree with him on guns and the principle of it. fukk them Republicans, i'm tired of us having to bow down on every single policy because its " a great soundbite and talking point for them " when republicans don't give a single fukk about what we want as liberals.

I think he's done so much damage that he'd had issues running for senate now.
They'd come after him for all the stuff he's said about guns/churches and not sure how that'd fly here in Texas.

Sad because I'd prefer him over every Democrat/Republican in the race and would vote for him.

I'm not sure there will even be debates this time. Trump seems like the type to potentially skip them.

Coming from someone who isn't even from Texas I still like Beto personally, i think he's a good man at his core and just wasn't ready for this. he made a fair amount of unforced mistakes but the media also hit him with the Hillary treatment and it was very effective. Hopefully Dem politicians that run years from now learn how to counter the media's Hillary strategy next time because until they do, the media will continue to do it to liberal candidates in the future.

Yang keeps improving. I thought he had a good showing.

Kamala did not help herself at all. Came across as desperate and petty

Klobuchar had a ridiculous amount of talking time. People seem to think she did ok but i think thats just a media creation. I cant imagine she made anyone a supporter of hers

Booker keeps trying to be the referee rather than actually promoting something. His unique idea was the baby bonds thing and i dont think he ever mentioned it

Castro didnt move the needle for his campaign. he was ok but theres really nothing he can do at this point. his campaign is cooked. maybe he will be warrens vp if she wins the nomination

tulsi barely spoke and took the deblasio approach twice when she did and got cut off once. shes done

bernie was good. there was a significant amount of time during the middle of the debate where he didnt talk at all. he was otherwise pretty jovial (for him anyway) and i thought he was effective

biden is biden :yeshrug:

warren got attacked a good amount. most here say she handled it well. i dont think she did good or bad really. she was ok.

edit: i forgot pete. i thought he did really well. he crushed beto and was otherwise poised and well prepared. made some good points. i wouldnt be surprised if he gained a pt or 2 from his performance

The race is over, the other candidates haven’t realized it yet.

After AOC and the Squad's endorsement. Bernie is the real front runner now. He has a more diverse base than Warren(Mainly College educated cacs) and Biden (Older Black voters). Mayor Pete is gonna be a real threat and take alot of Biden supporters.
