You really gonna sit up here and act like that loss last year was an indicator of how good the team at the time was? They shyt the bed. They were a better team than that game indicated.
Like the 49ers their defense was devastated by injuries. Offense wasn’t good enough to overcome that. Your not a superbowl caliber team if half your defense was signed off the street in a playoff game

This is football injuries are forever a part of the game. Hell right now the Broncos are prepping for the Patriots with a back up QB. Hell Philly won the SB with Nick Foles.

The Lions were hurt but they still should have won that game.

This entire playoff has pissed me off. None of these teams are more talented than Lions. Honestly if Frank Ragnow played or retired at a reasonable time to replace him we’re still playing right now :snoop:

A nothing comparison. It anything Lions and 49ers were better parallel

IE at some point you just run out of bodies. Could we have beaten Washington with a more disciplined offensive game plan? Sure. But the defense was dead and Goff was over compensating because we couldn't stop them at all. Because, again, the defense ran out of NFL-caliber bodies.

That being said I think the last couple weekends have displayed that our depth isn't as good as it could be. Sure, Holmes has done a good job filling holes with vets on cheap contracts. But the downside is that this team lacks young depth. We don't have a young, drafted TE behind LaPorta. We don't have a young, drafted safety behind Kerby/Branch. We had one young, drafted CB on the active roster (Terrion). We had one young, drafted DT active for most of the year (Tyliek...not counting Alim who is on a second contract, and not counting Wingo who was inactive most of the season). And there were no young, drafted DEs behind Hutch. Sure some of this was because guys were hurt (Dan Jackson, Rakestraw, Paschal, Hassanein, etc). But we haven't even drafted a single TE besides LaPorta. We drafted one safety besides Branch/Kerby.

This team needs bodies and it needs DUDES. You watch Seattle's d-line and it's waves of guys. Same with New England. One guy getting hurt doesn't implode the entire system. And when I look at the amount of day 3 picks we've set on fire for questionable trades it's hard not to imagine what this team would look like with 5-6 more young promising players on rookie contracts. Especially at TE, S, CB, and DE.

This on Campbell. Cardinals were a shyt show offensively. Kyler isn’t good and always hurt. They lost both their RBs. Oline is trash. And MHJr one of the bigger disappointments in recent draft history. Maybe he’s a good play caller but Campbell didn’t do himself any favors with this hire. Fans online will be outraged per usual. They just want a whos who of fired coaches.

He better be the guy, especially if McDaniel and DaBoll wind up taking OC positions with other teams.

The Yay
petzing look like a doofus in arizona. very conservative and made kyler play very rigidly in the pocket. this might not be a big issue with goff having to play from the pocket anyway, but idk...feels like his conservative nature dont mesh with dan campbell's agression
