I dont think you understand what a Federal government shutdown means for private businesses that people like you work in. If the Federal Government shuts down for a prolonged period then eventually State and Local governments will either slow down or shut down too. Do you realize how many contracts are handed out by Federal, State and Local governments? Do you realize how many people in the private sector have jobs that are tied to government work? Schools, hospitals, their contractors etc., will eventually be impacted at some point.
