I'm Ready to Have that Tough Conversation part 2
I understand why Thibs was let go. As a fan who wears their heart on their sleeve for this team - I want the team I grow with to stay.
Practically, I understand why the Front Office has to compartmentalize emotion at times to improve the team.
They knew who Thibs was when they hired him. They knew certain concrete ways he had.
However, what the FO believed, and, honestly, what I believed is:
- Looking back, with a 9 point lead and less than 1 minute left in game one, proper clock management should have been communicated to the players on the floor and it's the coach's job to ensure the players know how to handle that.
- This roster could have beat the Pacers if, from game 1, KAT high/low post plays were featured. Turner from any other big on that Pacers team could not stop KAT posting and driving into the paint.
- There is a level to this roster that can be unlocked and an offensive minded coach can propel this team.
Hard for me to admit. But, this is my opinion as of now.
