remember aaron hill? 36 home runs 108 rbis .286 avg? next season batted .205

you see it all the time in baseball, just like nfl how folks were talking about jayden daniels etc. last year, cj stroud the year before but once teams see the tape and adjust well
Playing in the AL east don’t help either

Look at the Yankees
Added Max Fried and shyt just for us to body them in round one lol

Every time I envisioned how this ended, it was impossible to imagine us losing after all this. We were supposed to win. This season was a dream story. All season long, We looked like a team of destiny making history and doing all the things that people thought were impossible on this run, only to lose in the worst way possible. Santander was injured, in serious pain during the ALCS and was done for the year . Berrios was injured late in the year and was done for the season. Springer, Clement and Bichette were walking wounded for most of the second half of the season including the playoffs . I feel so bad for John Schneider and all our players. I just had a bad feeling about this last at-bat, I just knew Barger would ground out into a series ending double play. My worst fears were sadly confirmed smh.
Baseball is easily the most cruel sport to lose a championship in. Baseball playoff losses are worse than playoff losses in any other sport in my opinion. Maybe I have Recency bias but that’s what I think right now.

This is biggest Toronto sports heartbreak in my lifetime and it’s not even close. To be that close to the World Series championship but lose at the end in that way is so painful. So close to heaven but rejected at the last minute and sent to hell. We had so many opportunities to win the chip but we just couldn’t get the breaks tonight.

No Leafs or Raptors loss ever hurt me like this one tonight. No game 7s Leafs loss in the last decade ever come close to this one. Not even one. No raptors loss either ( the game 7 loss to Brooklyn at home in 2014 , then Lebron James and the Cavs domination over us in the Lebronto era during three straight playoffs from 2016 to 2018, the game 7 loss to the Celtics in the Covid 2020 bubble playoffs) the pain of losing game 7 loss of the WS at home will last forever and will always haunt until I die.
Yeah, it was Kirk though not Barger. But of all times for Kirks bat to break into a chopper. Brutal.
I don't put any of the Raps losses up here either. That's why I mentioned the 2013 Leafs cause that was a monumental collapse that started with a .0000045% chance of losing, or something like that when they went up 4-1, lol.
With the Raps 2014 that was a house money run since the Kyle/NY trade flopped and him and DeMar got shyt going after the Rudy trade. 2016-2018 was progress and Bron's best years with that Cavs team, and bubble was bubble, no one replacing Kawhi's departure, despite having a great regular season. Didn't expect much in the playoffs.

Lauer probably gives up a run

Dominguez should’ve came in instead of trey that second inning Trey was used

To me that’s the only decision i can’t make any sense of

leafs were also up 3-1 on the panthers and choked that series lead a few years ago

Even that kirk thing bothered me. I was listening and even buck said the worst thing would be a ground out because kirk is so slow its an easy double play.

To mitigate that any manager would have sent barger to steal a base. With guerrero on third they wouldn't even have thrown the ball to second.

Just those little things we could have done

I’m not gonna lose any sleep over this
They didn’t deserve it with how they went out
Kudos to the dodgers

These dudes couldn’t execute sac flies all series. It’s disgusting tbh
If they could’ve just hit one deep sacrifice fly deep and hard into the outfield in the 9th, when they had bases loaded, jays would have won the World Series. We would have been celebrating on younger street instead of being heartbroken, bitter, angry, mad and sad. We would have been loudly and proudly cheering the triumph of our team, smiling ear to ear, with our hearts full of love and joy, and peacefully wilding out in the streets of downtown Toronto instead of grieving because we knew our team wasted once in a lifetime opportunity that might never come again in their careers or in our lives. Our Last World series appearance was literally 32 years ago. We night never see our jays win the AL pennant and comeback to play in the World Series again for the rest of our existences on earth. knowing how fickle, capricious, unpredictable, and random the sport of baseball is, the blue jays next year might have another disappointing, frustrating and inconsistent, having half the active roster injured, then finish third in the AL East and miss the playoffs again

If they could’ve only hit sacrifice fly deep and hard into the outfield in the 11th, they would’ve tied thr game at 5-5 and would’ve continued to bat.

Man I’m crying right now. I’m in tears breh. When you care about your team that much, It’s so easy to be depressed. We witnessed our team snatching defeat from the jaws of victory tonight. You can’t get over this and forget tonight’s loss easily like that. It was a Painful moment . We collectively went from exciting and joyful anticipation to brutal and heartbreaking depression between 3 innings of play. (9th to 11th)

baseball/World Series finalists hangover is so brutal
