:blessed: @ this thread. I just bought a bunch of new work out clothes. Been slacking on my gym shyt but I'm getting back on my grind. Getting right and tight for the summer.

My biggest problem is actually eating. Not eating too much, but eating at all. I can eat once a day and be okay. My appetite is so bad and I feel like it slows down my metabolism. I've tried eating 3 full meals a day with snacks in between and I just can't because I don't get hungry and when I force myself to eat, my stomach hurts. Help me brehettes. :sadcam:

I think you need to see a doctor and nutritionist. Seriously. That's not good. Don't panic though, just go see someone, it may be something really simple.

I haven't tried any of that.

Lettuce for wraps:ohhh: is that good?

It's really awesome. I only eat tacos with romaine lettuce for the shell now. It's a much lighter and satisfying meal.

Guys, I have a serious sweet tooth. I do spin class three times a week, MMA class twice a week, and free weights twice a week so the workout is good. I try to eat healthy, but those donuts be calling me :sadbron:

How do y'all curb your sweet tooth?
I eat a small square of dark chocolate everyday (70% or more) that helps me, my mom whose a major sweets craver can't go as low as 70%, she eats 85% cocoa

What do you consider "full" meals? Do you know what caloric intake your body requires for basic functioning? Have you talked to a nutritionist about your lack of appetite/is this a recent thing or have you always had issues with eating?

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions; there could be an underlining reason as to why your appetite is lacking.

I don't even bother trying anymore... if I try to deny myself the stuff I want, it just makes me want it more. I just calculate the calories for whatever junk food I want, then work em off before eating it.

I posted these in another fitness thread from a group I need to visit more :skip:

I don't count calories necessarily, but for most things I try to make myself aware of them. It deters me from eating things once I know how bad the calories are. If anything when I am trying to lose I loosely count them I just have a general idea of what I ate. If I am eating really healthy I don't because I know its low off GP.

I am working on losing, its easy for me once I am committed. I have been already eating better doing home workouts and running. About to start back in the gym up coming week.

Once I start on my health kick I start to want those foods more than anything. My issue has been time, self control, and motivation but I have been making working out a priority again its hard but I love the feeling afterwards. Getting there.

Its easier, better mentally and more realistic.

Also for those trying to lose, things that help me:

Be aware of Calories
Plan meals for the week- you tend to eat bad when you have to think of what to eat when you are hungry or don't have time

Drink water all the time-I only drink other things rarely and only with full meals, even at a restaurants all I drink is water... Unless its a margarita or something :guilty: If you don't like the taste of plain water, add lemon.

Try to workout in the morning even if its only for 30 min. Find a routine you can do at home in the morning.-its easier to make yourself get up and jump start you energy for the day, than when you are winding down. If you can't motivate yourself to when you get off school or work at least you did something that morning.

Replace normal components of your meal with a healthier sub- For example I rarely eat lettuce anymore even romaine I use spinach or Kale instead. Everything is brown rice, quinoa, wheat or whole grain for all the grains I eat and adding more.

Start with small changes don't try to over haul your whole life or you won't stick with it. When I am doing right I have a balance of good and bad I can eat like this the rest of my life*. I will never not cook with butter but I can use half for flavor and some "good fat" oil.

Some IGs I follow for motivation, tips, and workout ideas:

http://instagram.com/how2squat

http://instagram.com/hiitmax

http://instagram.com/juicypinkfit- even tho she doesn't post workouts as much anymore :skip: I got my current morning routine from her

You are welcome , I completely understand that something always happens to knock you out the habit as soon as you get one. Restarting is the hardest part but for me when I had stopped, what has made me better is when I think of the time I wasted getting back started have for along I would be now. Then I am mad at myself :snoop:

For the grains don't give yourself a choice, its all I buy. I like the texture and everything else better than white and I also feel quilty when I eat none wheat or whole grain because its wasted calories. I could have gotten so much more out of what I ate health wise, especially something like mac and cheese that is by default less healthy lol I'm like I could have at least made it more worth my while.

As for meat I try to do healthier choices. Like ground turkey instead of ground beef, chicken sausage. I don't really eat pork except for bacon :noah: but most of the time I sub turkey bacon. I eat a lot of seafood and I eat chicken mostly. Sometimes I eat beef like a roast or steak but not a lot. I do love burgers though but again sometimes I just do turkey burgers. I have started using roasted meat for sandwiches instead of deli roast it slice it sandwiches because it has less sodium. I have incorporated meatless meals into my diet. I could If I know I will just have to eat an unhealthy main dish, I try to make the sides healthy.

I use regular seasoning, as a cook I will never not use salt or butter (@Chill :lolbron:). Salt is fine for cooking, you need it in your body just use in moderation. Don't use salted butter. Watch the sodium in other things (i.e. deli meat). I don't really use mixed seasoning combinations like garlic salt because I want to control the flavoring of each. I might need more garlic but less salt etc... I make my own marinades thats another way I can control salt and flavor. Store bought marinades have higher sodium. I also try to combine fresh flavors like fresh garlic, herbs etc..I don't like Ms. dash without salt its lacking to me.

Its really about what works best for you, I found its harder at the end of the day for a lot of people just starting out. I am the same once I start if I don't I feel very guilty.
