I don't really have a problem with the animation but I do have a question

The original Dragonball run ran from 88-97. One 20ish minute episode every week, no weeks off, no seasons.

They did have several different artists through it's run and would bring in their best artists to animate the most important moments.

But still, every week for almost a decade straight, there was a new episode.

I think Dragonball's animation is on par with this if not even better.

How were there to keep that show running at that pace but Invincible is such a struggle?

Toei basically had indentured servants/animators. The reason why DBZ looks so better even with bad animation scenes is because they had great directors, art direction, and choreographers.

Impact frames, a sense of speed, dynamic poses all used on limited animation, something invincible doesn’t do because they don’t have the animation foundation, the animators to execute, or good directors.

The Japanese animation industry is infamous for basically treating its workforce like indentured servants, especially back in those days. So that's how and why.

This episode has some of the worst/cheap animation ive ever seen. How can this show animation be so bad when something like Vix Ex Machina is god tier animation? Smdh.

Amazon isn't putting enough money into the animation budget for Invincible, which makes no sense. Isn't this Prime Video's biggest show?

This show should be looking top-tier, and they have the money to do so. Amazon needs to stop being cheap.

Thats hard to believe because they have other animated shows with great animation. The studio is putting all the money into celebrity voice actors.

Invincible is one of my favorite comic book series (not quite as good on reread), so I'm happy the show is doing so well. I just wished they prioritized the animation. So far this is probably my least favorite season, but still a solid 7.75/10.

It’s not just the animation it self but the art style as well that is subpar. Thankfully the story is interesting now that Nolan is back but without that, this art direction is Nickelodeon/OPM S2 status.

I’m fine with it but they had a real opportunity with this show to break the mold and compete with anime for story and artwork. They failed at that. It’s just an interesting cartoon and that’s it.
Thragg not being cast right (despite Pace being a good actor) put more pressure on them to visually make him intimidating and comic accurate which relies heavily on his art style and animation which is already a weak point of this show. I am not holding my breath. I’ll watch it to see how the comic is adapted but I haven’t enjoyed anything really for awhile.
I said it earlier. The animation for the most part is fine. People don’t like the art style. And due to a few things, they’ve been conflated

Not for me. I have no issues with the art style.

Yes, the animation is "fine", but it should be more than that. It should be good to excellent. Amazon has the money to improve the animation, but they're being stingy.

i do wonder why the budget for invincible is sooo damn small. it actually looks really good for how cheap amazon was with this shyt. i do know they dont respect animation so they think they can do more with less... which the show proves is not the case
