Another point you failed to mentioned is boxing’s true fans do not matter. All they do is complain and do not feed the sport. Shakur can fight electrícians on a week’s notice but this is too far knowing damn well yall will be tuned in. Tank is out of the way so why aren’t other fights being made now? Because the greater public doesn’t give AF about any of those n-words. The other fighters put fans to sleep *cough cough* Shakur. He just got a great win versus Zapada and he’s no bigger a star now than before. Know why? Because boxing fans do not matter. I’m on all the boxing pages on YouTube and it’s the same people.In most other sports the best vs best kind of matchups happen at least annually or more often. Boxing is different for multiple reasons but one of these is the blatant disrespect of the sport’s fans with fights like this and a lot of other shaenigans.
Idk what sports do you watch but imagine something like Barcelona announcing they won’t play Real Madrid because they rather play against a Youtubers all stars or Alcaraz announcing he’s not going to enter a Grand Slam because he must concentrate on a match against an Instagram intluencer.
Boxing is always on the verge of going too far in the “entertainment” territory and shyt like this happens when that goes overboard.

hardcore fans literally carry the sport
The vast majority of boxing cards are non PPV events casuals don't care about. And these type of cards is where hardcore fans financially support and position people like Tank to even be where he is now to fight exhibitions.
How can you say no one is making other fights when hardcore fans have been absolutely eating lately, shyt has been like a boxing buffet the last year/year and a half. There were 4 major PPV level cards this summer alone when in previous years we might have got like 1. And that's not even including smaller status cards like Zayas and Itauma events where hardcore fans got to eat even more.
In fact the Tank date is actually sandwiched between two major weeks of boxing. Vergil vs Lubin and the stacked Benevedaz card. Ain't nobody sitting around waiting on nikkas like Tank, the sport is moving with or without him

This. Without the hardcore fanbase building up the hype around these fighters gradually the casual fanbase would never catch on, nobody would make it big. Even the biggest names started as undercard fighters.

X and Y not being mainstream names doesn’t excuse Tank Davis’s bullshyt.
Besides the most popular ones (i.e. popular team sports) sports usually only have a handful of crossover names anyway.

I stand by what I always say, if it’s more money it’s NOT a duck. Tank will make 5x as much as he will fighting Roach. That being said this is NOT boxing. If I wasn’t a Netflix subscriber I wouldn’t tune in. They better hope my subscription don’t lapse lol. I don’t wanna hear shyt about Tank being better than whoever after this. He has left the world of boxing and is strictly WWE status at this point.

Still, it’s not like he got famous from thin air. The Mayweather boost served him good from the get go but hardcore fans were the foundation. Just like most fighters he also appeared deep on undercards first.
