DC been circling him for like 3 years with the John Stewart role... but fukk all that, if Marvel can snag him for BP that'd be a great look.

I bring up Denzel's son mainly bc Marvel has gone with some acclaimed actors/actresses for their 3 non-white male leads (Chad, Brie, Mahershala), so I figure Tenet would be the icing on the cake for JDW if he's stellar in it. The recency-bias edge.

So he's Chadwick's height + 13 years younger.

If he can grow the beard + fro and give an accent... he might be the best available combination of all spectrums.

He's known from moonlight and bird box, he's got the look and physicality.. but what do yall say about his acting chops?

I mean there are good arguments for both sides of the coin. We’ve seen actors take up the mantle of others before and it work super well, but its too soon IMO.

He IS Black Panther. The same way Christopher Reeves was thee Superman. Those roles will always belong to the two of them respectfully. They owned those roles. Maybe once they reset the universe they can recast.

Dani Gurira is my pick if the mantle is passed to a woman. I don't know about star power like Lupita, but she stole every scene she was in in the first movie and her action scenes look believable. And dope. You actually believe she'd kick people's. asses

i hate to even think it but, I think a group approach is best to honor BP, all of them can take a stab like Batman Inc or something...including introducing Casper Cole

I think there will be no new T'Challa, it will be a NEW BLACK PANTHER. And like many have stated, there are a lot of good choices. They could even break a semi-unknown actor if they want.

But if you look at black actors on the rise, I think they'll choose from JDW, Yahya (but I think DC would block this, or he would be the number 1 choice), Daniel Kaluuya (he already is in the BP universe and can do a redemption arc), Aldis Hodge, Trevante Rhodes, and Damson Idris (he's a strong darkhorse) as he's a great actor, young, and is gonna be a star.

Chad wouldn't want this franchise held up just because of his health. Im sure he had discussions with Feige and Coogler just in case the worst came to pass. This character means too much just to retire. If there can be multiple Supermans, Batmans, and Jokers, there can be more BPs.

In the event that they choose to recast, I would suggest

• Aldis Hodge
• Y'Lan Noel
• Or an unknown actor

BP2 isn't supposed to come out until 2022, so no - probably not.
