Yea I don't understand why they didn't recast. I don't think the general audience really would've cared. I mean we had to believe that, Val kilmers batman, was the exact same version as Michael Keatons, then we had to believe that Clooneys batman was the exact same one as kilmers, which was essentially keaton I mean shyts been done before. It isn't new. Marvel fukked up.

IMO Breh from Candyman would be the best Recast (assuming he can get the accent down, since there aren't really any prominent Continental African actors that I can think of).

i didn’t know blade was supposed to be a superhero until recently , shyt felt like a random Wesley snipes fighting vampires flick, I didn’t enjoy the first and never saw the sequels…blade ain’t hit no where near where black panther did as far as establishing a tier one black superhero. storm was the only other but they made her a second or third thought in the movies compared to her in the early 90’s comics and cartoon

honestly nobody would care. Out of all of the current young black actors he is the most 'regal' (I see he went to Yale or something so that's probably why he has that range), and he has the physicality for it too.

He's like 36 too which is a perfect age for a legacy role.

Blade 1 had everyone hyped as hell when it dropped.

That theatre was packed Frida evening. Everybody went to see that shyt in HS when it dropped. The 1st 15 mins tho was masterful.

at the time people didn't know blade was a marvel flick even with the marvel logo showing in the beginning. they just thought it was a cool vampire movie.
because they don't see blade as a superhero like the other ones.
I fight with old heads in my family about this. when blade 2023 was announced they thought marvel bought the rights to him
it's one of the reasons why people always fight about blade being the first film to start it all because it doesn't "count" for many reasons in their eyes
did it save marvel and kick start where we are today? absolutely.
it also debunked the myth that black leads can't carry films internationally. it did extremely well domestically and overseas

blade did numbers and it was out at the same time as titanic. No blade=no marvel=no mcu. Shieet you can say that blade made super hero flicks bankable again after the batman & robin fiasco.

Its not about who would care or wouldn’t care its about contracts, scheduling, and availability. If he’s signed on for sequels to Aqua-Man and any additional appearances in the DCEU then that could conflict with filming & promoting Black Panther 2. Remember making movies, ESPECIALLY big tent pole blockbusters, is a much more intensive and calculated business than pointing at an actor and saying “HE’S PERFECT!” And shyt just goes into production. Daniel Kaluuya had to drop out of BP2 due to filming NOPE, and he wasn’t even a main character. Thats why you rarely see these big budget movie star actors crossing over into other big budgeted movies because scheduling is hell

Marvel should have given Snipes a role as one of the elders in Black Panther 1 to show some respect since he was the main one trying to get Black Panther made back in the day or executive producer credit.
