Why are they doing reshoots in September when the movie comes out in November?

If it's not ready just release it next year.

Also MTO was the story for CGI T'Challa so it's likely false.

Theres a rumor that MCU movies and shows do a lot of "scrapbooking" where they keep reshooting scenes where different scenarios happen in case test viewings get poor reviews. Its the reason why a lot of MCU shows seem choppy and dont make sense.

Could've easily just pushed the film back and let Wakanda go back into seclusion for now with everything that happened

Feige is a company man & Disney needed a sure billion dollar bag post Endgame with no Avenger titles (at the time) in sight.

But I agree it seems like he opened up the door for a recasting.

I personally think secret wars/kang dynasty is going to reset the universe so they'll recast him then
maybe even make it that Chadwick was T'chaka in the new universe and died suddenly to keep respecting him
but the movie isn't focused on him dying this T'challa has been bp for a while now they just mention it in passing.
