What's Coming To Netflix September 2015

September 1st
  • Person of Interest: Seasons 1 - 3

One of the most exciting, thought-provoking shows on network TV is finally on U.S. Netflix. We love Person of Interest and have done our best to drum up (ahem!) interest for it since we think it's a show you'd all totally dig. But there was never any way to catch up on past seasons. And it's not a show you want to jump into during the middle.

But now the first three seasons are here. With Season 4 coming to Netflix at the end of the month, on September 22nd! So there's plenty of time to binge before Season 5 premieres early 2016.

Person of Interest: Season 3 Review

From executive producers Jonathan Nolan (Memento, The Dark Night) and J.J. Abrams, comes the chilling tale of a sentient government surveillance system that can predict murders on both grand and small scales - from terrorist plots to premeditated murder. Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson star as rogue vigilantes in New York who try to prevent the smaller crimes from happening. And with a cast that also includes Taraji P. Henson, Amy Acker, Sarah Shahi, and Kevin Champan, Person of Interest remarkably veered a bit off-brand for CBS, by transforming from a procedural into a straight-up serialized adventure show about personal freedom, thought police, the birth of A.I., and the possible enslavement of all humanity.

SPOTLIGHT
  • The Monster Squad (1987)

From Fred Dekker (Night of the Creeps) and Shane Black (Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3) comes this late-80s cult flick about a group of horror-loving kids who come face to face with Universal's most famous movie monsters - headed by Count Dracula. So if you're in the mood to see a young punk kick the Wolfman in the nuts - I mean "nards" - The Monster Squad is for you. For a while, this was one of those 80s films that was being rebooted (of course), but those plans fell apart. So there's just the original, we're afraid.

SPOTLIGHT
  • Masters of the Universe (1987)

Since we drudged up Monster Squad just now, may as well keep the 80s sci-fi/horror cheese a' flowing. This film, Masters of the Universe, based on on the hugely popular He-Man Mattel toy line, IS currently going through reboot development over at Sony, so here's your chance to watch the sorta-terrible original, starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man, Frank Langella as Skeletor, Courteney Cox, and Billy Barty as some non-toy character named Gwildor who goes on and on about the "Cosmic Key."

As with AMC's The Killing, Netflix quickly saved A&E's Longmire from cancellation and granted it a new 10-episode season. So Season 4 of Longmire - starring Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff, and Lou Diamond Phillips - hits Netflix this month. Which is a great thing since not only is it a solid mystery show, but the Season 3 finale ended with hell of a cliffhanger.

  • The Walking Dead: Season 5

The Walking Dead's Best Episodes

The Walking Dead's fifth season may have gotten a bit bumpy, story-wise, in the middle, but the Terminus arc and the group's arrival at Alexandria gave us some of the show's best, most thoughtful material to date. And Season 5 will arrive just in time to catch up, or re-watch, before Season 6 premieres on October 11th.

any of y'all have prime instant video?
what's good on there
Big name movies like Expendables 3, the latests Transformers movie, and such are the same as Netflix. But they have:

Batman TAS
Spongebob
Orphan Black seasons 1,2
The Americans seasons 1,2
Bosch
Mozart in the Jungle
Catastrophe
Tons of B horror flicks
HBO/Cinemax- Sopranos, Curb, Boardwalk, Veep, Banshee, Strikeback, Entourage, etc

Lots of overlap with Netflix but still its pretty good imo

Can't really call it. It seems like every season it loses and gains people. I think I hopped off the wagon around the end of the 4th season or so.
