I’m intrigued. Curious as to what this film will mainly be. Opening shot looked like something out of Midsommar, mid shot had Saw/Hostel vibes, and then the title card looks like AHS. Hoping the story is actually engaging and it’s not a full-blown torture film.

Between this and the R.L. Stine trilogy coming out, it’s great to see Netflix pumping out more horror content. That catalog been iffy for a while now.

Helen Morgan had nursed her common-law husband, jazz great Lee Morgan, through heroin addiction. On a February night in 1972, she walked into Slug's Saloon in the East Village with a gun in her purse, and after they fought and he physically threw her out of the bar, she returned and shot him. Then, Helen relinquished the gun and waited for the police to come for her. Many years later, she was interviewed about her life with the brilliant and unpredictable musician.
Initial release: September 1, 2016

It’s not made for men - y’all WOULDNT understand. From a woman’s perspective - it has a reliable parts for me and underlying messages crafted into a horror movie.
I fukk with Midsommar a lot, though I can see why it’s a tough watch for some and why others hate it. It’s slow, all of the characters are unlikeable, and there’s this feeling of disgust towards the end (which I thought was a keyed-on point). Some folks will question why their time was wasted. I like folk horror, and I like observing toxic relationships in films, so it was the best of both worlds watching Ari blend both aspects into one film.

I’ll say this - Aster did his job if y’all are feeling disgusted with the subject matter by the end. It’s supposed to be a tough watch.
