Finished that Sirens show last night. I don't think it ever really knew what it wanted to be in terms of a show. It started one way, then pivoted, then pivoted again. Julianne Moore is definitely in her weirdo bag right now. This, that movie where she was the pedo teacher a couple of other recent roles that are escaping me. Think it's time for her to do a White Lotus season. Milly Alcock still has a presence but she just didn't seem to own the show like she did House of Dragon. I'd only seen Meghann Fahy in Miss Sloane and the White Lotus, so this was like a 180 from that white lotus character and she pulled it off for the most part. Bill Camp was great in this, he was funny when the dialogue called for him to be funny, and then he also landed the spots where he needed to convey a damaged man that was deteriorating old man, that definitely wronged his daughters, but can't piece together how to fix it. Dennis from Always Sunny man his face didn't look real in this. Gonna be weird seeing him look like that in the new season of Always Sunny. I didnt' really think they did much with Kevin Bacon in this, he felt like mostly a waste of character actor. A few of the side characters were fun like Jose, Raymond, and the girl that was always in the drunk tank.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, because overall I just don't think they could decide what they wanted the show to be. It definitely doesn't work as a full on a drama, but probably could have landed it if they stayed fully committed to the weird/possible cult/wellness guru shyt they setup.
