There's so much fitnah around me. Colleagues backbiting each other/music/bad language etc..

Oh, and they've got some nerve serving cakes and biscuits, knowing full well chocolate chip cookies are my weakness.

I can't wait till my 2 weeks off.

The stronger we are in our faith during these temptations the bigger the reward will be Sister. Your colleagues are enjoying life on earth while we will enjoy eternal life after death Insallah

My girl and I are taking a "break" during Ramadan. I told her since we're not married I am fasting with my Muslim family I don't think it will be appropriate for us to have sex. She was like "you wasn't talking about Allah when we met." I tried to explain to her again that I used to be a Muslim but still have am sympathy towards the Umaa. She was like at the same time. One of the reasons why I left the faith(but not the major reason) is because I like too much non married sex. I can't front though reading the Qur'an and fasting the last few days kinda makes me want to fall back in. Who knows I might be back all the way in by the end of the month

Mash'Allah even though I don't know you I'm proud of you. It must have been very hard to tell her that. Ramadan only comes around once a year so,we should try our best to make the most out of this blessed month.

I'm pretty much the same.

The only struggle I have in Ramadan is music. I waste time alot though for e.g for the last few hours before iftar I watched tv when I should have been reading the Quran or making dikhr.

The only struggle I have in Ramadan is music. I waste time alot though for e.g for the last few hours before iftar I watched tv when I should have been reading the Quran or making dikhr.

There isn't much harm listening to music in the post iftar hours but obviously in this month if you really want to keep it clean you gotta filter what you listen to.

I don't think it is too big an issue though. Remember you are working during the day you've got most of that taken care of. For the remaining few hours just pray and do Qur'an stuff and trust me the time will pass.

Yeah as much as I hate working and fasting the time passes by pretty quick. We have the radio on and all I can hear right now in my head is that stupid Meghan trainor song So annoying lol.

Wouldn't say a horrible person. Just less conscious about do and donts. And less preachy as I am now. Being Hungry turns me into one of the worlds biggest Imams
What are your roots if you dont mind me asking?

Third day is going great so far. No headache from lack of caffeine el Hamdoellah.

That is what this month is for. To get closer to our Maker and remember how blessed we are the rest of the year.

I'm really bad at this. However, even trying to spend all my time focused on god has had a dramtic effect. Is it really one step toward him, two toward you? Y'all really go hard and truly do this every year?

I do this every year. For me personally its just as much about feeling closer to my Maker as it about cherishing and appreciating the luxury (food, water etc) we indulge in through out the year. Going through this once a year makes you appreciate life and God who gave you life much more.
