I don’t follow the GCN channel on YouTube anymore but I did see the video they put out the other day about whether Visma is racing for 2nd place.

The guy suggested Visma IS racing for 2nd because Visma is seemingly allowing their riders to chase Stage victories, rather than conserving energy to help Jonas.

Looking ahead it’s unclear what Visma’s path forward is. If their team isn’t strong enough to beat UAE now, it’s unlikely to be any better in 2026.

Bit of a long read but interesting

Nice article that recapitulates all the same tropes. It beggars belief that these superhuman performances day after day can be accomplished without PEDs. It’s just bizarre how sloppy these guys are though.
In other news, MVDP out with pneumonia.

Jonas’s wife is also his manager and basically said the team don’t know what the hell they’re doing, team is not racing for Jonas, and should basically go kick rocks. Might be Jonas’s last Tour for Visma.

Where the heck could he go that’s gonna build a team around him that could win?

Ineos, Bahrain? Red Bull if the deal falls through with remco? Seems like a lot of damage has been done with to the relationship with Visma.

Ineos would the very second the ink dries on the contract. They've been looking for that TDF GC guy for years. Chased Remco for years but different reasons it was a failed pursuit. The problem is Vingegaard is old. Not ol yella old but 29 next year and cycling like many sports is becoming a young person's game. And Vingegaard is saying he's in excellent form hitting high numbers in this tour and none of that is even making a dent. Vingegaard is definitely the name Ineos needs but the ROI is likely not going to be worth it.

Great. Now I gotta find this. lol.
There’s a government website with all kinds of good fables on it.

I forgot not everyone might be familiar with the Dutch self sabotage arrogance conflict and phuckery.

The Frog agrees to help the Scorpion across the river on the condition that the Scorpion doesn't sting the Frog as they will both drown. The Scorpion agrees I won't you are helping me out. So the Scorpion gets on the Frog back. As they are crossing the river the Scorpion stings the Frog as they are both drowning the Frog says why did you sting me and the Scorpion goes because its in my nature.

This is true. He’s had some major crashes. Might be looking Froome status.
