The democrats for the most part aren’t advocating for Trump to invade Iran, they’re allowing him to make the decision on his own and deal with the political blowback that comes with it.
If Trump invades Iran it’ll be his fault and as Steve Bannon says it’ll destroy his presidency.
What you’re advocating for is for the Democrats to be the adults in the room and save Trump from himself.
If they do that Trump will get credit for showing restraint or standing up to Israel. A more popular trump is a more emboldened Trump and will continue to tighten the noose domestically because he’ll have an increase in political capital.
The Democrats are wagering that he’ll expend all of his political capital on Iran and it’ll force him to fall back domestically since he’ll be so unpopular.
