Breh it’s funny you said that because I was in the second Iraq War and I was riding around in a top less hummer at one point. They ran out of ballistic plates so I only had one. We were constantly moving ahead of our supply line so there were days we didn’t have a resupply of food and ammo for our howitzers. Smh…

It’s crazy to think that the greatest military in history is improvising a war in the Middle East. Just think of all the money invested in training, preparation, funding of military institutions of higher learning etc, all to improvise a fukking war in the Middle East in the year of our lord 2026.
I was a kid during the first Iraq war, but, I can clearly remember watching the news stories of the meticulous planning led by Colin Powell. Even the second Iraq war, which was a huge step down from the professionalism of the first had months of planning ahead of the conflict.
I suppose the military is mirroring the lack of professionalism, ethics, seriousness and competence that we are witnessing in other areas of society. Whether it be the rise of conmen in tech like Elon Musk, politics with Trump, or the gutting of traditional media institutions like 60 Minutes.

but also believe that competence or intelligence isn't "real".
It's like "no one really knows what they're really doing" has become the guiding ethos of our country
