The favorite is most likely to lose game 1. Theres no pressure on Pacers to win this first away game. All they have to do is hit their 3s. Especially from the bigs like Turner and Siakam.
Of course it’s pressure plus a let down. They’ve won both away games to start the last two series.
Potentially losing the 1st & having more pressure to win game 2.

Because if you let OKC go up 3 it’s all but over. Add in it’s the finals. Every single player feels pressure

I’m surprised at the amount of support Indy is getting. OKC coming in with a bunch of awards and accolades. Nobody really cared about Indy but now some people are thinking they’re going to knock off the monster.
Indy had way better narratives for each series and it wasn't even close

Beat the top ranked Cavs even with Mitchell going for 40-50 multiple times

Milwaukee with the Dame shyt vs Hali and Giannis having words with his dad

The history of Pacers/Knicks and Hali hitting em with the Reggie Miller to get em outta here

Games were more exciting in general too aside from the Aaron Gordon buzzer beater

t-dot till they bury me
I love NBA trade lore

- Suns traded Kurt Thomas and two 1sts to Seattle/OKC in the 2007 offseason as a salary dump.
- OKC used one of those picks they got to draft Serge Ibaka
- In 2016 they trade Ibaka to Orlando for Oladipo & Sabonis
- In 2017 they trade Oladipo & Sabonis to Indiana for Paul George
- In 2019 they trade PG to the Clippers for a package that included SGA and the pick they used to take Jalen Williams

On the flip side
- Indiana trades Paul George to OKC for Oladipo & Sabonis
- In 2021 they trade Oladipo in a multi team deal that brings them Caris LeVert
- In 2022 they trade LeVert to Cleveland in a deal that brings them a 2022 2nd and a 2023 1st. They use the 2022 2nd to draft Andrew Nembhard and the 2023 1st to draft Ben Sheppard
- In 2022 they trade Sabonis to Sacramento in a deal for Haliburton

So essentially, the Suns attaching two 1sts to dump Kurt Thomas’s contract in the summer of 2007 to avoid the luxury tax indirectly set the stage for this Finals matchup
That 18 year vision :ohhh:

Miami Heat vs Dallas Mavericks finals the Mavericks were +500 underdogs in that match up. Media and everyone was on the Heat that series. Pistons against Lakers was also a major upset in 2004.

The Pacers are at +600 right now for series.
Don’t forget Rick coached that mavericks team.

I got the Pacers in 7

Unlike the Knicks, the Thunder love to run and get out on the fasktbreak, so Pacers playing fast won't be a big advantage

But this off season I've seen OKC give up so many wide open 3 pointers. Wolves got a lot of open looks, but they are nowhere near as offensively talented as the Pacers

Fast break offense will probably be canceled out. The key to this series is who can score the most in a half court setting. I still have question marks on OKC scoring when the game slows down, so I lean the Pacers. OKC could surprise me and obviously win that battle though

Which Haitian is going to perform the best in the Finals?
Which would be allowed back to Flatbush Ave and Church Ave after the Finals are over?

Lou Dort or Ben Mathurin?
