I'm not disputing that. What he did in terms of leadership and play at his age was great.

Also he's obviously great with people/interviews because people keep falling for his shyt. After 3 and a half terrible seasons in Milwaukee and back stabbing Brooklyn he was able to get an assistant role with Lakers.

And now he's apparently the front runner for a head coaching position against much more qualified candidates.

I can’t wait for them to announce who the coach is so we can all be equally disappointed.
Tbh you guys aren’t being fair . The Knicks interviewed A wide range of candidates from experienced head coaches to rising assistants .they haven’t hired anyone but seem to be putting them through a vigorous vetting process. First everyone was like same ol Knicks they selling out to CAA but now it’s no matter who they pick is trash

Everybody talks about Kidd and player development, but other than Giannis who the fukk has he developed. :francis: IDK brehs this feels like another 3 years of darkness ahead.

Bruh, he developed Middleton and Brogdon :what:

Arguably he did more with them since they were both second round draftees. Brogdon became ROY and a very good PG and Middleton becoming a All Star when he was just a throw in by the Pistons in a Brandon Knight trade.

Everybody feels a certain way cause the media said Kidd was going to bring Giannis. However, he is a decent HC if you look into him. Every team he’s took over improved the first year, none of the teams got worst, and he is the lead assistant coach on the best team in the league.

Plus if we’re drafting a PG I can’t think of a better HC to pair them with.

Meanwhile Thibs, wants a 5 year Knicks special as a way to get paid when he fails like Larry Brown did.

Another rumor about the Knicks being interested in an established offensive talent. This one on the surface seems more realistic to me than Booker or Beal. I don't think the demands for Zach would be as crazy as for either of those two and I don't think anyone would be surprised if he asked out. He's also got a really fair contract for someone as talented offensively as he is...but I think it's only right to mention that his defense can be outright frustrating to watch.

One thing that's absolutely clear is that the Knicks probably aren't standing pat. I feel like we've seen far too much speculation about trading for a big boost piece for Rose not to be thinking about turning the Knicks fortunes sooner than later. That's not a bad thing or a good thing; the moves themselves will be the good or bad. But it does make me think he'll be aggressive with the cap space and assets when it's time to move. I assume the draft lottery will help set the trajectory too of course.

On LaVine fit wise? Zach and RJ as the wings is a really promising tandem. You get the guy who stretches the floor and goes over everybody playing next to the guy who can bulldoze his way in and knows has good passing instincts. You can pick your favorite PG from this draft class and there are going to be reasons to like the fit; although LaMelo/Zach on defense could get ugly early. I really LOVE the idea of adding Kira Lewis' speed to Zach's flight and RJ's strength. Also, my guy Frank would fit with the wing combo too. He'd bolster the defense and since those two need the rock; his pass first mentality is a strength (although a draft pick like Haliburton checks these boxes too).

Expand it a bit further and I'd inquire on Lauri too. I referenced it before, but Boylen's system just has not worked for Lauri. But if we pick up a pure stretch 4 with the cap space (Gallo or Bertans); then you could have a big man trio with Lauri as a super sub for both 4/5.

This is probably much ado about nothing though. I'm just bored and we haven't had much Knicks news. Watching other teams play is making me stir crazy too.

Bruh the ideas of this though.

Mitch/Draft
Bertans/Lauri
RJ/Harris
Lavine/Roberson
LaMelo/Frank

I'm fukking with it.

Ironically enough with a back court of Lavine and LaMelo..... I think Frank would be great as bench guard to put in there to help defend. Roberson makes sense too but did he ever recover from that injury.
