I see the vision. He’d be cheaper too right? He can’t be asking for more than 15 a year? My only thing is, if your building around RJ and Mitch your going to need 3 plus shooters around them. I don’t think 2.5 is going to cut it. That defense tho? 5 solid to plus defenders ob the floor is something I’ve wanted in a Knicks team in a while.

I think for the time being, that’s an offense cp3 can run with RJ as a nice secondary playmaker. And long term for RJ to truly become the guy we build around, that jumper’s gonna need to improve. If not though, Grant ought to be tradeable with how much he brings to the table and a price tag in that mid-teens ranges.

I also just think that looks like a group of skill sets that Thibs can maximize. You mentioned it fam, that’s a defensive unit through and through without a hint of a questionable motor. It’s my kinda squad.

I’m not overly concerned with the snub. If anything, I think a player like RJ will use that as motivation. But the tidbit I wanna highlight bookends this article:

For the last week, RJ Barrett has partnered during the Knicks’ “individual” workouts with new assistant coach Johnnie Bryant.

...

That Barrett got mostly paired with the former Jazz coach Bryant is not a bad thing if you want the No. 3 pick in the 2019 draft to turn out like Utah’s Donovan Mitchell.

...

One of the reasons Knicks rookie president Leon Rose and vice president William Wesley were sold on hiring Bryant for Thibodeau’s staff wasn’t just because he’s a Creative Artists Agency client but his work with Mitchell and Damian Lillard.

Though Lilliard has spent his career in Portland, Bryant is considered Lillard’s mentor. They both are from Oakland, Calif.

While the rest of the article is about the snub...it’s the developmental bits that has me excited. Bryant working with RJ is about the best news I could ask for personnel wise.

Berman just wrote a article for the knicks that was heavily biased in their favor and outright positive

:picard:

These legit might be the final days

I can’t believe guys are using Rose’s CAA ties as a negative. As if CAA is some wack ass agency that has no track record of success with finding clients with talent.

It depends.... is the dog wagging the tail or is the tail wagging the dog.

Basically are these top people who are CAA clients being brought over to support Leon running the Knicks or are these guys being brought over to get a payday and send money up the chain in CAA like the mob use to do.

I hope it’s the former but I think it’s the latter. We got to wait and see.

knicks have been CAA associated for some time now and it has led to nothing
also, if we start making signings because of affiliation and not talent, it will be a issue
not to mention other agents who dont fukk wit CAA might not want to do business with rose.

we will see tho

:beli: I thought it was our gm that pulled that move. shyt was horrendous.

Nah it was all CAA.

CAA Convinced Knicks Owner James Dolan to Trade for Andrea Bargnani
Phil Jackson Could Be Perfect Mentor for Ailing Knicks, but It Won't Be Easy

Basically Dolan hired McKinsey consultants that placed a share of the blame for the Knicks sucking on CAA. Its one of the reasons Phil was brought on. They wanted him to gut CAA, now that Phil and Mills are gone Dolan being the bytch he is went right back to CAA.

All we know is the knicks have only been heavily tied to CAA agents in Free agency (CP3) and the Draft (Ball, Haliburton, Obi, and Vassell), the majority (if not all) the FO, scouts, and coaches are CAA. Hell, even the coach search was damn near all CAA clients. One way or the other we are going to see how this goes down.

Mills has been associated with every horrible team we’ve had in the last 20 years so I’m glad he’s gone:yeshrug:
