I agree. BUT if the front office truly thinks that Okoro is the best prospect available by a considerable margin, then fukk it. Being terrible this year is better for us anyway. There are ways to get around poor spacing that can still facilitate development of the young guys as long as they play. We saw this with Mike Miller vs David Fizdale last season. You can still generate offense through cuts and we would have to play uptempo. We’d still be bad obviously but Okoro doesn’t HAVE to mean a throwaway season.I don’t see a taker for Randle and I see FVV dubbing us
Maybe that CP3 trade ends up happening. I don’t know regardless I don’t think Barrett and Okoro are a fit. If Barrett is gonna be this point forward type he needs shooters period.
Team needs an identity and right now it doesn't.
I 100% agree with everything you said. I also wouldn't gamble on an inefficient shooter in Okoro. I'd go for Kira and throw the bag and anything at FVV. Defense can be taught especially when you have RJ, Mitch and Frank. Knox has also been underrated defender towards the end of the season so I wanna give him, one more year to prove he's competitive now that Morris and Randle will no longer be stealing his minutes.i'm sold on RJ & Mitch.
i wanna see how Frank, Knox & DSJ develop under Thibs.
jokes aside, Frank can be a solid 6th man. he can play 1-2 and guard 1-3 (another reason why we should draft a PG). i think he'll thrive under Thibs given his defensive capability.
Knox had a rocky sophomore year but the fact that we hired Kentucky assistant Kenny Payne makes me believe the front office wants to give Kev another look.
DSJ is DSJ. the optimist in me hopes he can return at least half of what we lost in Porzingis but 15 ppg might be a stretch for junior.
at #8, Okoro sounds like the safe pick but i'm tired of playing it safe. defense is more teachable than offense. this draft is too suspect to not take risks.
we need to draft buckets.
In free agency, what about taking a look at Bogdanovic, M. Beasley, Wood, Crowder and Grant
I would love to have Ingram even if we had to trade Robinson but I don't see it being possible. We just don't have enough valuable assets and we must keep most of our picks. My first moves of FA would be to try and get Beasley and Ingram on offer sheets. I'd price check Harris and Grant fast too. I'd keep an eye on Bogdan, Baynes, Wood and Dragic but they're not crucial additions; just guys i'd be looking at depending on how everything else falls out.
i'm sold on RJ & Mitch.

I agree that it is easier to implement defense than offense as well. Coaches design plays to work off of strengths and weaknesses especially with pick and roles.the last parts interesting... you think it’s easier to go from being a bad defender to an average defender than it is to be a bad shooter to becoming an average shooter? I think i disagree.
We do need to put players on the team that fit with RJ and Mitch .Avoid any of these mediocre free agents, and go all in on the tank.
the Knicks defense has been worse than their offense there have been games where they just allow insane amounts of 3 . And their offense can’t get easy possessions do to the inability to get stopsI agree that it is easier to implement defense than offense as well. If an opponent backs off of you and defends the top nucleus of the team, you don't need to be there. If a player is a great defender but the team is not pushing the pedal forward offensively, it's embarrassing.
The Knicks have been embarrassing offensively more than defensively.
DSJ is a prime example of bad defense >> bad offense.
Trey Burke was a bad defender but great on offense and look how he's doing.

I think it’s easier to turn Okoro into a decent shooter than it is to turn Nesmith into a decent defender for instance.

Hell no. We know a 6th Man is someone who can anchor a second unit and Frank is not even close to thati'm sold on RJ & Mitch.
