yeah there is, we have crazy high numbers. some guys in this thread are kind of discrediting it by saying women don't usually get degrees that are worth anything. i really don't give a fukk what degree a black woman chooses, she's getting educated either way and that's the important part!

I do. I want to encourage my enlightened, gifted black women to get degrees in areas that helps improve their situation and the community's. Basket weaving isn't the wave. Unless it's a minor, then go for it.

tbh a lot of degrees aren't really "worth" it any more outside of stem. school is so expensive that a lot of people are going in to debt over it, even those in reliable fields. i don't think anyone should be restricted to math, science, economics kinds of jobs. humanities/liberal arts jobs are undervalued in society right now, and they might not all be worth it i can admit that.

facts, my father , myself, and my uncle all have different degrees.
Mine is accounting,
My dad's is finance
My uncles is banking.

I mean, I was a biochemistry major and in the classes I took alongside bio, Chem, and physics majors; there was definitely way more black women than men I studied with in our school lecture rooms and laboratories by 2:1.

but what if someone doesn't wanna be a doctor or scientist? i feel like that's a really unfair assumption. plus there are plenty of business/stem minded people who have a terrible sense of self and lack direction. half the time they just got forced to do that field.
my mom is a sociology major. she was vocational counselor for years and helped many underprivileged people get jobs. is that not a market that needs more people?
a lot of psychology majors end up being counselors. they are especially needed now.
