my mom is a sociology major. she was vocational counselor for years and helped many underprivileged people get jobs. is that not a market that needs more people?
a lot of psychology majors end up being counselors. they are especially needed now.
I'll be honest with you. If they didn't have the degrees, those places would still hire those women..
Majority of psychology degrees are not working in their direct field and that is a huge issue regardless if they are able to find employment.
No one trying to shyt on these women but it's not a good look for future black women future to think this is what they need to survive. It'll only put them in a big financial hole with school becoming more expensive and financial aid getting harder to receive
We, a group of us, teach personal finance especially for future students. You know how many of them after sitting down with the math - numbers on paper changed their degrees. They decided to go the smarter route and will thank themselves in the future because of it. Then there is the whole college stigma leaving a lot of women in school who do not honestly want to be there, it's setting many for failure.
