But you know what tickles me more than anything we've discussed? Is them overweight people who say they don't wanna lift and get even bigger from lifting they just wanna do cardio until they cut down and then they'll lift :mjlol:

Like no lift now to gain muscle and eat at a deficit so by the time you cut down you'll look somewhat decent or maybe even good.

If you just do a bunch of cardio and still go home and eat like shyt, the fukk is that gonna do?:stopitslime:

I'm just giving a person at the beginning of fitness some type of guidelines. You hit a newbie with macros & calorie intake and TDEE they're gonna give up most of the time. So using my tips they can atleast get into the habit of being more conscious with their food choices while not being bombarded with a college class worth of information on weight loss

And nutritious by definition is food that's efficient & Nourishing

Some lean chicken on top of a salad? nutritious :yeshrug:

Some chicken on top of your extra cheese pizza? Not nutritious

Avoid excessive amounts of fats & carbs

Buy more veggies than processed food at the grocery store

Nutritious food is a grey area but any person with a hint of intelligence know that the twinkles in aisle 3 aren't nutritious while the spinach in produce, is

I see your point but it discounts the sheer amount of articles and information that has conflicting theories and strategies. Sure at a base level people know that three Twinkies over spinach isn't the best consistent move but that's simplistic compared to a long term strategy.

Just look at the point about pizza. How isn't it nutritious? It has all of the three macro nutrients..............

Yeah, but to a lot of women, "in shape" could just mean "not too :flabbynsick:"

Unlike the narrative that's pushed in places like The Coli, Reddit, Misc, and Men's Fitness, they don't give a shyt about your vascularity, body fat percentage, or how wide your v-taper is.

I mean they might not know what the technical terms are, but they def like someone who is more in shape than not and appreciate shyt like nice arms and a small waist. Of course, that has limits too.... most chicks don't want a Mr Olympia type dude or a dude with striated buttocks.

A lot of people suffer from eating bullshyt food even when they aren't hungry.

Diet might be a bigger problem than lack of exercise
Yea, the avg person's general interactions with food are not ideal. It's not even eating bullshyt really, it's just not having any kind of structure. Having no kind of discipline. Like my MIL... she is the kind of person to have a tube of raw cookie dough for dinner, and then complain about her stomach hurting the next day. Or my bachelor homie who literally eats nothing but fast food. Every time I go to his crib, all he has in the fridge is a couple bottles of beer. He's prob gained 20-40 lbs in the 3 years I've known him. It's like the 'work to live don't live to work' thing. Lot of MFers live to eat and eat off of emotion rather than need.

It can go too far the other way though. MFers bringing tupper ware full of chicken breasts and broccoli on vacation :francis: :snoop:

That is a tricky situation. Honestly, I kind of side with them. If I was obese I would want to get to ground zero as quickly as possible. I might try and lift, but cutting down to a starting weight would be my top priority. Trying to make gains in a cut just complicates things, especially if you are starting and learning from scratch.

Always
i'm not sloppy or fat... got a little gut but i'm still slim... 5'11 190 pounds
A little gut? Breh I'm one inch shorter than you and I weigh 155. :usure:

Lmao @ the shyt I read in this thread. "Most girls don't want Mr. Olympia." Naw breh, most girls don't want to date an average looking guy.

Also, fukk the guy on IG. He's making it seem like people can get those results easily and they can't. Also I doubt he'll be able to maintain that body until he dies. He may get fat again. nikkas with muscles always acting they're in hella good shape. Naw B, you got muscles, you're in good shape, but calm that motivational speaker shyt down.

Also I'm tired of the lies. Nobody gets buff for their own health. He was morbidly obese. Any weight loss would improve his health. He got buff to get laid and stunt. The lies are ridiculous. Lmao I'm sure he'll say something like, "girls like me now because I'm confident." What a dumbass.

It's also excessive in Fat sodium and carbs.

I wouldn't call it nutritious if it's excessive in things that aren't nutrient based

You wanna make a healthy skinny pizza? Sure, that can be nutritious but probably taste nothing like pizza.

regular everyday pizza is unhealthy man.

If people are looking for a long term strategy , they can start with realizing that cutting out fatty foods is half the battle for most people. Trying to skew your perception so you can look at pizza as nutritious, is silly and will only enable someone with eating problems to continue eating like shyt.

This is still pretty open ended though. I think it's easier to make some clear hard ground rules. No more soda. If you can, no more juice either. You get fast food.... look up the calories, just get one side, and make it the smallest side possible. Have 2-3 servings of lean meat a day. Learn to cook. Don't have more than 50-100g of sugar a day (unless you are @Adam3000 :salute: ). Stay away from high fat sauces and dressings. Etc. There's a lot of real simple no debate stuff a lot of people can do. You tell someone to eat nutritious.... OK, they go get a salad, but then douse it in ranch dressing. People need simple easy rules; they can't be left to try and figure shyt out.

See that's my perspective!

I went from 230-240 down to 175 all by running 3-5 miles, 4-5 times a week. By the time I got down to 175, people thought I had a serious health issue and hit me with the :whoa:
I didn't start lifting until coming up on 4 years ago and even then I wasn't dialed in for another year or so.

That's why if people ask what to do, my response is "What's important, the scale or the way you look" because if it's how you look. There has to be some strength training involved.

I try to help because I been through the ups and downs.

But see that's not the point of making gains, lifting just adds more calories being burned and speeds the heart rate up on top of cardio, you'll look a while lot better IMO lifting and cardio while eating at a deficit, than just doing cardio and eating at a deficit. But I wouldn't have a problem with someone just wanting to do cardio, but I would put my 2 cents in and give them my opinion.

True, building muscle adds more calories burned, and helps with getting/staying lean.... but if you have to lose 50-100lbs, adding learning all the lifts and trying to make gains on top of that is too much IMO. I would rather drop all the weight in a year and then focus on making gains and staying lean than try and do both and possibly fukk everything up. High key it takes years to really learn it all.... I didn't learn how to make gains in a cut until my 3rd or 4th cut. So someone just starting out is gonna probably fukk it up.
