thing is, I think Bird is trying to copy what the heat did when playing LeBron at the 4. either way...neither the Warriors nor the Heat played like that for entire seasons. Bogut and Green were their starting front court and then went small in stretches in the game.its a copycat league..

So what exactly is the purpose of this? Is this just about Larry Bird establishing his dominance or this supposed to help them in some way? I am really not seeing how it helps them. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than I can school me?
It makes sense because they have the worst collective of bigs in the league. Despite the fact there's the risk of it being a net negative on the defensive end, if his minutes at the 4 are handled appropriately than it improves their win probability.
