No he wouldn't, Nas has a more versatile/the most subtle wide range of fans low key, and has the timeless music advantage, it would all get highlighted in a verzuz.

Do you understand the amount of smash records Jay z has? He has unlimited ammo. Im not not even sure who could step to Jay in a verzuz. Maybe Kanye. If they had an album cut verzuz then I got Nas all the way.

VS is your best 20 vs mines. We can judge amount of hits by looking at the charts.

These are not facts. In 2004, going platinum wasn't light. It was a big deal and less rappers were reaching that status. You were not going platinum without a monster hit to carry you. This is what platinum looked like in 2004:

Multi platinum:

Eminem- Encore
Nelly- Sweat
Nelly- Suit
Kanye- College Dropout

Platinum:

Twista- Kamikaze
Flip- U Gotta Feel Me
Lloyd Banks- Hunger For More
Buck- Straight Outta Cassville
T.I.- Urban Legend
Jadakiss- Kiss of Death
Snoop Dogg- Rhythm & Gangsta
Lil Jon- Crunk Juice
Ludacris- Red Light District

^^^ All of these had monster hit singles. Some of them had multiple monster singles. Nas still went platinum without one.

Also, if you are not applying Soundscan numbers to other 2004 releases, then don't talk about going platinum. The two are not synonymous.
Yes that’s a lot of albums and you prob missing some

Nas fans don’t want to have a real conversation y’all have this tired discussion all the time but when you get an answer y’all start Juelzing :hubie:

If Nas released better albums and had hit records post-2002 he would be held in a higher light he wouldn’t get “downplayed”, “disrespected”, “underrated” or any of that.

Hit records and "better" albums don't shield anyone from being downplayed. Just to give you an example of that is you look at someone like a T.I. Breh, has multiple hit songs and had them for nearly 10 consecutive years. He had like 5 consecutive platinum albums. How many people actually look at T.I. as Top 5? T.I. is often downplayed and dismissed despite the run he had. Same goes for DMX to a lesser extent.

Nas is widely regarded as top 4-5 in spite of not having a plethora of hit records. His albums sold without having mega hits. His biggest charting hit came at album #6 with "I Can".

Nas generates hype releasing albums of nothing but unreleased shyt, he's getting Jigga out of there.

How am I lying? Lebron James was just on IG in full Thieves Theme gear bumpin a Nas track that came out damn near 20 years ago. Nas has fans in so many different pockets of life. Bron is a Nas stan but still that even further proves my point.
Bron is a way bigger Jay stan there’s literally footage of him in HS in his Hummer bumping and rapping Takeover

His entire business vision was built around what Jay had with Roc-A-Fella diversifying his business and bringing in day ones and trusted partners he throws up the diamond in pics and everything he’s a Jay-Z super stan

Jay-Z is bigger with more fans than Nas he’s winning that Verzuz it probably wouldn’t even be close at the back end when u consider the disparity in hits and recognizable classic songs and features Jay has post-2002 compared to almost none for Nas

T.I. fell off his run was like 5 years and he transformed into a corny mf’er he was never to that level of reverence anyway

Still he too feels disrespected and downplayed with his King of the South shyt and inventor of trap music he feels a way of how Gucci and Jeezy get more credit than him

This post plays to my point exactly. If hit songs and "better" albums meant as much as you were saying it did, why was T.I. corny and a five year run despite still having hit songs as late as 2014 (11 years after his first real hit). You're downplaying him, yet he had hit records beyond what you are calling his run.

For the record, most rappers only have a 5 year window, which is why Nas's career is impressive.

Maybe then but not now as grown man Bron, breh is clearly a student of the game and catalogs, breh is a full fledged Nas stan at this point.

Songs carried by Thug hits in spite of him and mediocre albums selling Gold or below
