Just saying, I know a good amount of folk in the restaurant/bartending business, and I can tell you If you tip like a dikkhead...meaning like a $50 tab and you're leaving a couple bucks. If that waiter/waitress is working next time you come in they WILL remember you. You will get the same service, but will have something a little extra in your food...not all the time, but there's a good chance.

When you act like an a$$hole, you should expect to get treated like one. It's pretty simple.

Tipping is a massively agreed upon societal norm. The ideas from people that are against tipping aren't original or revolutionary and they aren't making a stand or a statement about their feelings on restaurant pay policy. They just don't want to tip for various reasons and justify it the best way they can.

But like any societal norms, breaking some of them comes with consequences... some greater than others. Nobody is defending food tampering but most aren't going to empathize with a cheap fukk getting his mashed potatoes spat in either.

So someone who is faithful to a certain place, basiclly spends all his eat out money at that place but doesn't tip. He tells everyone to go there but cause he doesn't tip everyone can understand why people spit in his food, ok.

I'm not saying its not the norm. I just don't get the distribution of blame. The customer should be the last person to blame if at all.

It's high end joints that make more than enough money to give the staff a fair wage but they don't. The prices are already inflated and continuing to rise but not once do the staff or the owner talk about better pay.

I don't understand the hypocrisy about not tipping. It's not a crime but the defenders of tipping basicly condone staff members committing criminal acts if they aren't tipped

Its more people that tip than don't. So why y'all so mad? I had one job where I got tips and I made on average $90-100 a day in NY.

Why don't you address the owners about this. Blacks in the backs of buses was the norm to. Those same owners will give a celebrity a free meal and you fools wount bat an eye . But let somebody not tip and its hell to pay. If seen waiters mad and givebad service to someone cause he didn't order enough food to garner a large tip. I guess he deserves that too? You can understand why they would spit in his coffee?smh

I'm not saying people shouldnt tip. But if they dont ,they shouldnt have to worry about somebody taking it personal. Cause they sure wasn't taking it personal when they accept that bs pay.

Also is it a tip max. Since tips are there to make up for the owners giving them the shaft. Do they turn down money or pay the owner back.

Like I said, the ideas people, including yourself, express about prices and worker pay aren't new. Refusing to tip is not a statement about the state of food pricing or worker pay. It's a statement about the cheap fukkery of the non-tipper. Period. Stay home, breh.

I don't even know why I'm addressing this point because I can't believe you're really this dumb but giving a celeb a free meal is called cheap promotion. Also, I bet that celeb still tips!

I really do wish they'd just go ahead and raise prices 25% across the board at restaurants to pay waiters more. It would price out a lot of people that have no business eating out at full service establishments in the first place and then everyone could finally shut the ever living fukk up w/ their faux righteousness about wait staff pay.

A waiter at Applebees will get a 6 dollar tip while the waiter at Ruths Chris will receive a 25 dollar tip for the same amount of work. If those waiters at Ruth Chris were getting paid a regular hourly wage do you think it would approach 50 bucks an hour? Its not easy getting waiter jobs at those high end restaurants because of how good the tips are. You need years of experience and a top notch record for them to even think of hiring you.

There is this one guy who works at an omelet station at one of the better Sunday brunch places here in town and that guy makes a killing on tips. He has been working there for at least the past 10 years just making omelets. Ive actually asked him why he has been working there for so long, that nikka pulled out one of 3 full tip jars he had under the table and said if i knew how much he was getting in tips i would be trying to make omelets too.

The only people who complain about having to live off tips are the ones who work at restaurants like Applebees who have to deal with pieces of shyt like that pastor and other broke mufukkas. Mind you these are the some a$$holes who would cry, complain, and bytch if the bill on their microwaved dinner went up 20% because they are now giving that money to the staff.

I bet some of you guys dont even tip your barber either.
