The mental gymnastics people doing for Rocky Maivia is crazy and are bringing up WM40 to justify this :heh: The only part of WM40 that made no sense was all the dumbass run in’s at the end.

Considering everything Dwayne just said, from a narrative standpoint this buildup makes even less sense.

  • The rock does 3 fingers and dips at Summer Slam
  • John Cena goes on a losing streak and announces a farewell tour.
  • Good guy Dwayne at the Netflix premiere, shout out to Cody
  • Cena does his tour, no hints
  • Rock comes back wanting Cody’s soul
  • Cody confused
  • Rock does more teases
  • Cody confused
  • EC happens, Cena wins
  • FEIN FEIN FEIN FEIN
  • Cody tells Rock and FEIN FEIN FEIN FEIN, “Go fukk yourselves”
  • Cena turns and Cody gets stomped
  • Cena proceeds to say, “I HATE YOU FANS” “THIS IS THE DEATH OF AUTOTUNE”
  • Cody confused
  • WM happens Travis Shows up, Cena wins

———————————-

- Cody got royally fukked throughout all this, that match sucked, and this story sucked. There was not a single reason for Cody to turn heel.

- We know Cena turned, but why and why now? And no, the fans aren’t the reason, Rock was the reason but why. I said it on another thread but a farewell tour is retarded. It’s like Reign of Terror HHH saying he’s gone in a year and fukkin shyt up.

All these storyline gaps are where Dwayne should’ve been to move the story forward. This was trying to fix the mess Dwayne made.

Well Cena wasn't there every week carrying things on his back like Rock did last year. Push the blame to the performers...not a guy that gave you the moment of the year and created huge buzz initially.

Lol what a mess.

At this point I’m just thankful we got what we got with WM40 cuz it ain’t lookin like we gettin that energy back.
Despite the rough start, Rock still saved it, which is ironic because he almost destroyed it too. This year was full on Triple H and the shows didn’t even feel like Mania.

Travis Scott should never have been involved to begin with.
:unimpressed:
Especially if he’s not standing next to the Final Boss as the weasel-y sidekick. That’s the only way his involvement works.

They had his scrawny ass come out at WM looking like the missing 5th Pillar of AEW :skip: and we’re supposed to believe that he’s the one to help Cena and how Cody “struggled” to toss him out the ring :francis:

no problem with rocky not being at mania, especially given the marks complained so much about his involvement last year. i also think alot of people talked themselves into this couch booking of heyman and rollins joining the fold after night one and they were almost home to say "i told you, i knew" only to have that shyt implode. i would have booked it differently, but all this bellyaching is some entitled bytching shyt.

and as far as travis is concerned, i didnt care to begin with but cody's black eye had all the marks up in arms and he got his receipt so, just be fukking happy something happened you wanted. jesus. the whining is deafening.

i agree with you and i will say
After being at all four shows this weekend, here’s the honest truth—no one in the arena was complaining about The Rock not showing up. No one said the show was bad or that it was ruined because of him. Everyone left WrestleMania happy. The vibe in person was all positive.

Now, I’ll admit—I came in here to complain about The Rock too. I wasn’t thrilled about him being MIA and thought his excuse was weak. But looking back, Night One was solid and Night Two was legitimately great. The energy from the crowd said it all.

All the negativity I’m seeing is coming from the usual online suspects. The IWC and podcast brehs love being outraged, but the fans who actually showed up and spent their money? They were into it. I always say, the loudest critics online are still the minority.

If you wanna be real WrestleMania 40 was the series finale of WWE

Now we in a spin-off of WWE, kinda like Power Ghost, same characters, same stories but the soul is gone.

Understood 100% but that’s how it usually is with attending live shows vs watching at home. Sh!t, for an extreme comparison I had mad fun being at WM27 and the crowd was great, still that’s considered one of the WOAT Manias :heh:

Agreed on 2nd paragraph, that’s how I felt about both nights despite my complaints.

So just thinking out loud...

What if Cody/HHH said No to Cody turning heel. Rock didn't want to go with Cena....so instead of having Cena out there at EC, why not just have Cody tell Rock to "eff off", and Rock being like "Cody Rhodes, you just made the biggest mistake ever, blah blah blah"

And then just leave it at that as an unfinished angle with potential in the future. Of course then you have face Cody vs face Cena at Wrestlemania. So that kinda goes against traditional rules.

Or have Cody be a tweener
