he's right - the issue was the non-nude women in the video. of course there was nothing else going on

I think he could have maybe gotten away with it had John Skipper still been in charge. No way was James Pitaro going to let it slide though. He's been dropping the hammer on everybody since he's been in charge.

He knew ESPN was getting rid of him. But let's just say he didn't know. The reason why ESPN would fire him is not because of drugs, but because of female strippers all over the video. NBA is all about the money and they are aiming to find more fans, which is a female fanbase, sooooo you best believe some were crying about this lil video "how dare this rich misogynist treat women like that!" and other bullshyt. If there was a video of female ESPN employee getting high being around bunch of male strippers, at worst there might be a short suspension, then back to business.

So your company run your life 24/7... even when you ain’t getting paid for it? I hope it’s at least half a mil a year you getting paid
Capitalism is fukked up.
But at the same time, you're allowed to get into what you want as long as you don't broadcast it live on Instagram.

I was kidding but I don't know if he'd be able to get away with it under Skipper either - it was just a bad look all around.

Skipper would at least tried to go to bat for him to Disney Execs and help save his job, while Pitaro would have been perfectly fine with throwing Pierce to the bushes as quck as he did.

Remember, John Skipper likely helped prevent Russillo from being fired right away as he still President at the time that drunk situation happened.

That may be the case, but Disney’s morality is being overblown in this thread.

I think it was more of a James Pitaro (current ESPN President) decision to get rid of him rather than Disney themselves. Disney pretty much lets ESPN make their own decisions unless it becomes financially a problem.

No way would Russillo have stayed as long as he did after the drunk situation if Pitaro was in leadership instead.

Honestly, I think Paul knew he might be a victim of staff cuts and decided to turn up on IG. Maybe there was a stip that gets Paul more bread of he gets fired instead of laid off? Either way, I think this shows the preferential treatment of ESPN.
