Not many people I know had an easy transition into cybersecurity. I took a huge paycut and had to relocate in order to find my first cybersecurity job.

Your job sounds pretty laid back. Just so you know cybersecurity jobs tend to be much more stressful and time consuming. Especially the more money you make. Work life balance is almost non-existent.
I'd take a slight paycut at this point. Yea my job's not bad, I'm just concerned that there is a ceiling on my role, and the need to come into the office so frequently. Definitely know the grass isn't always greener.

Anyone telling you any field is oversaturated is probably lying to you.

Our whole lives it's been "law school and law" aren't what they used to be. I know someone that as soon as they passed the bar made well over 100k. Yeah yeah this is the coli and that ain't nothing but the point is if you want to get into something then do it.

Cyber Security Engineer for five years and Cyber Security Compliance Auditor for the past year and a half. Your job will be threaten by outsourcing. Why? A Senior Cyber Sec Engineer that knows firewalls, cloud and Endpoint Security. There was this American company I worked with, I jumped on the call, all the Firewall Engineers were based in India. Best way to be successful for me now is to be a shareholder.

My goal is to be ride this out for 4-5 years and make various investments so I don't rely on corporate america anymore

I studied a bit of A+ 1101 earlier this year but I kept hearing it was not that necessary. Thanks for your input. Been studying security+ for years now off and on, but now I'm locking in. No more excuses

Tech is down everywhere
india got a million inderjits who will do it all for 5 a hour
This is the consensus I've been hearing. I'm also hearing that some of those hires are incompetent or lack social skills. I know there are also some companies our jobs that do not sponsor visa's like mine, so I'm hearing conflicting things.

Thanks for the honesty and the perspective. Is there any sector of tech that will not be outsourced?

If you wanna go for it go for it, don't let anybody say you can't or discourage if you want to do it. If you focus on what could happen instead of trying to make things happen you just wasting time. If you have no real job experience start a blog showcasing projects, go to career fairs and meetups, spend most of your time doing these things along with learning and applying online, hell take a couple cc courses and put what you learn in those classes on your blog, who knows something might pop up.
