It's "modern" when Hit Boy does it but we're stuck in the 90's and want everything to sound like Illmatic for wanting to hear the producers who make the type of beats the other guy mimics
They were just shytting on 9th when someone did they wouldn't mind him working with Nas
I remember them attacking anyone who said they wanted Nas to work with Primo and when word got out that Premier was on Magic the same people were "OMG Nas and Premier finally classic incoming
" but then we found out it was only scratches. Bottom line is they're gonna stan whatever Nas does. If we get the Premier album let's see if they're still talking about being stuck in the 90's or if they change their tune.

I'd say the last 3 not counting the bonus are better than anything on HHID, and I loved Hold Down the Block.

But he's also produced a lot of music that "purists" shunned and criticized him for. Am I lying? A lot of those same purists dismissed him when he was all over God's Son and Street's Disciple and he was even getting bashed for the songs that he didn't even do.
I wasn't the one bashing No I.D. so I don't know why you feel the need to repeat that he produced "Stay". The people in the thread I'm referencing know what he brought to Life Is Good, but when Nas announced that No I.D. was going to producing songs on the follow up, they cried foul.
I've seen Nas stans disrespect Pete Rock, Premier, Alchemist, and Madlib. All four are far superior than Hit Boy. They got beats 20 years old that he can't surpass. Madlib and Al have recent beats/albums he can't surpass. They wouldn't know because they didn't listen to them.
They were so tried of having to defend Nas' beat selection that now that he has some consistently decent production they want to hold on to what they got and not let go. It's obsessive.
And of course people are going to stan whatever Nas does. They are STANS. What are ypu expecting? Expecting otherwise makes you the stupid person, not the stans.

It doesn't matter that they are superior to Hit Boy. It's Nas fans who like the music he's making with Hit Boy. There is absolutely nothing you could present here that makes an argument that Nas could be making superior music with all these producers ya'll naming. It's an exercise in futility.
And further more, we got people on a forum basically saying Nas would be making better music with other producers as if he reads this and is going to take the suggestion into consideration. As said before, he's obviously been inspired to basically live in the studio because of Hit Boy. If he decides to lock in with other producers, it doesn't guarantee it'll be who some fans want it to be.
I don’t want to hear a Nas Premo or Pete Rock track in 2023, Madlib and Alchemist are a different story.

I’m tempted to revisit SD, Gods Son & Untitled and compare all of the ‘bad beats and gimmicks’ albums against the Hit Boy stuff.
