How does winning in a shortened season benefit the Spurs more than any other team? They weren't even the old Spurs back then.

It doesn't but whoever wins a chip in a lockout season will have a *. When someone looks up the 1999 season in the record books they'll see an * next to the Spurs chip to reference the reader to it being a lockout season. I don't see how cats have been, for the last 15 years, not understanding this simple logic.

I'm lowkey trolling because I think asterisks are for the most point retarded even when it comes to shyt like steroids. But if cats are gonna really come in here and try to pull the lame ref shyt then lockouts are definitely free game. The thing dudes don't get is that an asterisk doesn't invalidate anything. If you're looking at a list of NBA champion teams by year, seeing " *season shortened to 67 games due to lockout" isn't a big deal nor something out of place. The media has given the word "asterisk" a bad connotation ever since Maris hit 61 and nowadays with the steroids BS, when all an asterisk is is a signifier of special circumstances aka a footnote.
