Basically cats screaming 4K but don't have the means to even display it.

Essentially frontin' ass gamers knowing they still on 1080p sets.

The bright side is that there should not be any more excuses for 1080p60 not being standard (as it truly should have been this gen).
But how would somebody expect to play full 4k without having a 4k TV?

Developers just gonna do what they always do with extra power.

Push the graphics as far as they can while sacrificing frame rate and resolution.

This goes for Neo too.

Aren't Sony and MS putting some kindve minimum resolution/frame rate requirement on games for those updated consoles though?

Scorpio got these stans shook.

This nikka @Fatboi1 was all through this http://www.thecoli.com/threads/ps4-remastered-thread-release-date-info-specs.410917/ thread arguin how the PS4K:flabbynsick: would be able to run games at 4k with even less power.

Damn clown:mjlol:
and not a single lie was told.

A PS4Neo can run games at 4k.

A PS4 can ran games at 4K.

I gave you the stipulations(lowered graphical details)

Digital Foundry said so:
It's also worth noting that - clock-speeds and resultant TFLOPs aside - the specs for RX 480 are point-for-point a match for the GPU in Sony's upcoming PlayStation Neo, all but confirming that the Sony mid-gen console refresh uses both Polaris technology and the new 14nm FinFET chip manufacturing process.

The RX 480 rivals the GTX 980

GTX 980 can play some games in 4K.

Not every game but it can.

Is 4K really THAT important at this point in the game?
It was all good just a week ago

Battlefield 4 900p is eh the PS4 was cool, who cares if knack and killzone sucked. I get 180 more "p" my nikka.

And why would anyone get a 4k system to use on a 1080p tv :wtf: How are Sony gamers gonna afford a 4ktv when they gotta rebuy ps3 remakes :mjpls:

What are you talking about upscalling?
Basically, when a console is debuted, the console makers say "Our console can do X." X being 1080P/60FPS, 4K, VR etc.

The problem with these statements are that every developer doesn't make the same game with the same fidelity and to make matters worse every game isn't running on the same engine. Therefore one dev may decide to push the system to it's limits by making the huge detailed worlds, character models, animations, particle and physics effects and whatnot instead of just making a basic lookign 1080P/60fps game.

Look at Uncharted 4 for example. those graphics shyt on pretty much anything else on PS4. COD BlOPS 3 runs at 1080P/60fps but are you going to sit there and say "COD looks better?" I'm quite sure you'll say no because it doesn't. Yeah it "hits" that buzzword but it looks nowhere near as good. GTA V for example on PS4 is detailed as fukk and has lots and lots of shyt going on but it's running at 1080P/30fps. Look at MGSV, it's 1080P/60fps but it's barren as fukk with lots of empty land and much worse looking graphics. That's why using 1080P/60fps as the benchmark for graphics is silly because that doesn't equal good looking games(On PC you solve this issue by just having more powerful hardware.)

Trust me I get what you're saying and Quantum Break is a perfect example. Because it depends on HOW the game is made. Quantum Break was very complex so it had to sacrifice somethings like resolution. Yet, Quantum Break is a very good looking game and has a lot of side effect going on screen.

But my main point is by definition the Scorpio is a native 4k machine by definition whether it struggles with it or not. Yes, it does depend on "how" the developer makes the game and I am not arguing against that.

By the end of 2017 when this drops are 4K TVs really going to be in most people's homes like that? Is the jump to 4K as big as SD to HD? Both companies are pushing for this resolution, and I'm all about the best quality picture, but I really don't think it's that big of a deal, or some huge selling point at this point in time.

Games running at 60fps and at 1080p are far more intriguing to me.
