I don't think the Bulls even consider a trade for Melo at this point. I just found out Melo has a %15 trade kicker, which means 3 mil more on top of the 22 he's making this season that we have to match up in salaries; that's a whole fukking lot. That means the Bulls ( or any other team) would have to gut a good chunk of their roster just to take on his contract. Plus Butler is playing like an All star right now; He's showing he's one of the league's few legit two way players in the league, and he plays elite defense at that. 20 games in i'm willing to say that his play isn't just a hot streak and is at least a sign of something, but even if his play comes down a little bit he'll still be worth a big contract.

So Unless the Bulls FO strongly feel like Butler play is gonna drop off a cliff, they aren't trading him for Melo, along with the 3 or 4 other players they would have to trade to makes salaries work, just so they can get an older player back and pay him more than what they would have Butler, and get less production out of Melo than they would've out of the players they traded.

Frankly Melo's gonna be hard to move in general with all things considered.

that is true I said that before I looked into their cap situation.

For now, Anthony has no desire to be traded, but his willingness to consider giving up the no-trade clause shows how frustrated he has become with the Knicks’ historically bad start to the season.[/QUOTE
^ from the third paragraph of the Berman article. I really think this is a "fix the roster while I'm sitting out" move.

fukk trading Melo, tell him to get the surgery and chill for the season. Tank the rest of the year, secure that top 3 worst record, and draft top 5.

What is Melo's injury anyway? There's no such thing as playing through a knee tear. You either need surgery or you dont.

Now the fanatic knick fans will see what every san knick fan could. Shoulda never pickup Amare..Gave up too much for Melo. Will forever lose with "3 offfensive move" JR Smith on the roster. And Dolan is still owner

Carmelo Anthony will not waive his no-trade clause with the New York Knicks, his agent told ESPNNewYork.com on Friday.

The New York Post reported Friday that Anthony would be willing to drop the no-trade clause if the Knicks found a trade partner suitable to Anthony's liking.

"Carmelo, as always, is committed to the Knicks," Leon Rose, Antony's agent, told ESPNNewYork.com on Friday. There have never been discussions about trades or wanting to leave New York. Any story, rumor, report to the contrary is utter nonsense."

Anthony signed a five-year, $124 million contract prior to this season.

The Knicks, who have last 10 consecutive games, have stumbled out of the blocks to a 4-20 start this season and are just one-half game ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers, who are last in the Atlantic Division.

That NY Post article was written by Mac Berman. People really taking what Berman & Broussard are saying as truth. And quick question, where is this footage of the "on court altercation" between Melo & THJR??? Somebody somewhere would've pulled it up by now.
