Why are people acting as if Early can't be developed? I might have to stay out this thread for a while, too much negativity & bickering.

Because they have a 3 year contract.....
And they brought over a bunch of player development coaches from the Thunder (who arguably are the best team currently at player development). So he could very possibly see minutes later this season and in the future.

wouldnt it make sense to have him play in the games where he can get used to NBA level speed? instead of rotting on the bench doing nothing? how does he learn that way? you dont develop on the bench

well nikka cant get burn in the preseason so it must mean hes not good enough to crack the important 12 man rotation so hes just dead weight
No reason to think he can't be developed. But if you're asking why he isn't playing RIGHT NOW, the answer is depth and skill set.
I liked that pick, I liked the Thanasis pick. I like rolling the dice on Labeyrie.
But I know why none of them are getting minutes right away, it's because they are raw. That's not negativity... it's a basic tenet of basketball.
The good news is the knicks were murking a horrible team for most of this game (before letting them close the gap). That's something!

I want Smith too play major minutes but its so funny seeing him work to get into position when JR and Melo are playing then Jr just looks him off and gives it too Melo in worse position.. that says a lot about our team the past 3 years
He could. But starters need to practice running the offense also. So do the players ahead of him on the depth chart. They have to work toward winning games during the regular season.
If you want to see him in game action so badly, there's always the chance they send him to the D-League. That's what it's there for. We may see that.

Fisher said This game was about getting players who will see heavy minutes reps.
With that said I know it's preseason but I think the knicks won that trade for Acy. Especially if he ends up being a starter.
