That's honestly the only way I see it working out for the Knicks, trading him for some kind of package that gets you back a couple of solid young players. You're not winning a title with Melo, so I never got the whole "We're in win now mode!".

I don't get some fans on here's attachment to Melo not only is he on the downside but he's an eyesore to watch if you're actually a fan of ball movement

And Woj did say from jump that Melo's thought was, "sign now, worry about destination later". let us pray. :sadcam:

I understand why, he's a star player, but people don't seem to realize he's not the kind of star you actually build a contending team around. They gave up so much to get him that people just gotta ride out till the end, he's not a 2 way player, he's not a facilitator, he's just a dude that can score really well but is a strictly an isolation player. He can't even play PnR well, and Kristaps projects out to being a Pick and Roll/Pop guy. I mean what the fukk are people watching?

People are totally right. Were bytching about the Euro, but lets not forget that Melo is basically retired at this point. Dont forget that Melo prepares for games by trading stock and looking up businesses to invest in. Lets not forget that he bought an office building without a business, and hired an image consultant. Melo is the biggest problem at this point
 God I hate that ESPN mag article...horrible!

Knicks would have been better off taking the Bulls package for him or letting him walk :yeshrug:

Yall are too caught up with the name.

Melo hasn't had competent guard play since being in NY. He a true SF, not a PG. If the Knicks get competent guard play he & the team will flourish. It is not a coincidence that his best year came with J. Kidd on the squad

One thing that worries me about Porzingis is his awful ast to turnover ratio he clearly can't handle the ball

Oh, so he just needs one of the best passing PGs of all time :francis:

fukk Melo, get the best trade you can for him, stack assets then sign the big free agents when the cap jumps. That way you'll have a fully fleshed out roster, as much developmental minutes for Kristaps / Grant as possible and the ability to go after impact players that are still in their 20s.

No amount of retooling is going to get them competitive with Melo vs the Heat, Cavs, Bulls, Hawks who all have quality rosters around their players.
