They really reaching with this 'shump was mad last season' storyline. Like, 'he was mad last year and he played bad. Even his mother talked to him. Now he's happy and playing better'. Great. I get it.

It's nicer to say that than Woodson had no idea how to use Shump once he realized he couldn't Iso and shoot the 3 reliably.

just cut early and let another team use him

He isn't that good yet. Can't dribble, not a great defender, jumper release is inconsistent. He's not playing anywhere right now.

'cept maybe Philly. Damn this lineup is terrible. Can't wait till we see Joel for the last 15 games of the season.

Fixed.

I've always thought under a different coach... Shumpert could have been a difference maker. Not a star, but the kind of player that moves the needle for a team on both ends.

how do we know his jumperis inconsistent when he never plays? they dont even give him a chance to play to get used to the nba speed and they expect him to get better how? just cut him if you wont use him...he clearly has no role on the team..let another team that knows how to use his skillsets use him.

Knicks
Jr Smith has played really bad since he got in. I know it's preseason but he has no fukks to give about trying to run the triangle
the dude has been relying on his fade away 3 for his entire career. Gonna take more than 3 preseason games.

Well, his release point has NEVER been consistent. And right now, he isn't good enough to garner big minutes. Melo, Shumpert, Hardaway and JR Smith are all more talented than him on the wing. And he can't dribble... so he won't ever play point.

You have to earn your minutes. He wouldn't be better than the fourth wing/6th guard on most teams. Thems the breaks. Practice, improve, and learn the system.

He doesn't have much of a skillset right now. He's good in open space in transition only. He can't beat a man off the dribble. He can't pass, and he can't shoot off the dribble.

On top of that, he doesn't get to spot up much, because there is not reason NOT to close-out hard on him... Plus he's not a plus-defender. He's young with room to improve... but that's it. If he can be the weak-side movement, and catch and shoot a little... that's a win for a second rounder.

Stop whining about fringe rotation players, you sound like Knick fan. :PhilFinger:

His skill set is great for the triangle, because it doesn't require him to radically improve any of his weaknesses. With that said as a second round pick on a team with depth at his position this season ..... why would he get a lot of minutes at the beginning of the season?

why is he on the team? if he wont get minutes now, he wont get minutes later...so again why is he still on the team?
