Can somebody explain to me why when the knicks have Melo they would need KD? I don't understand it....

Like looking at 2016 the FA class is pretty dismal on stars but if the knicks have Melo and Marc I would assume they would be looking at Roleplayers to build the roster around those two.

Exactly, people are judging how we'll do this season on a handful of preseason games.
That's why I'm barely posting I'm watching the preseason games to learn what I can' but I'm not judging the season on it . If they were undefeated I would put little stock in it same as they doing now :yeshrug:

I can't speak to how other posters feel... but I'm just not one for undeserved confidence.

During the Regular Season the Knicks got blown out by garbage ass Philly, Charlotte, and Washington....

And before you jump in and tell say that Washington isn't garbage... I'm talking about in 2012-2013, when the Knicks were second in the east, and those teams went a combined 84 - 162.

Last year they caught embarrassing L's to a BUNCH of awful teams. And got blown out by a bunch of "alright" teams... That is the nature of being an ok-to-not-good team in the NBA.

"Where's your confidence".... you have the metaphor wrong. When I see a 5, I know she's a five. I don't feed her drinks and tell everyone she's an 8 n' a half. That's what you do. That's what a lot of people in this thread do.

The Knicks ain't a 10, fam. They are a 5 or a 6 right now. If you wanna fukk around, do it. But don't come to me and tell me "yo the knicks are a dime" - they are not. They're "aight" at best. fukking rootable because you know they have a steady job and there's some consistency. They have good bone structure, and just got a gym membership. That's great. But that ass is always going to be flat, and those ears can't be sweat off. That left eye is always going to be a LITTLE lazy. Not cross eyed, but a little lazy, just enough to notice it. You want to wife them? Fine. Celebrate them? Cherish them? Tell them they can do no wrong? That's your decision. I'll be honest... The bone structure is good, maybe what happens next, the next generation... maybe they can be good looking. A little recessive-genenome luck, hell, they could be true beauties. Blend away some of these life's errors... cuz the world has been hard on them, and some of their best features have faded. The investment could be worth it, long term... and maybe you'll feel validated, then.

But deep down, today... when it's just you and the knicks, and you're looking at them stark naked... when the girdle comes off, and the fake eyelashes get removed, and the makeup smears.... you know they're a 5. So don't front on me when I say so. 5's need love, too. 5's deserve loyalty too. But right now, the knicks are AIGHT... so, hold that. And live with that.

And don't come with weak ass metaphors about "the club" on some teenage loser shyt. I'm an adult set to marry a beautiful woman with a masters degree from an ivy institution, bruh.

She runs marathons, I have flawless hoops technique. Bout to teach every single one of these kids a reverse pivot when they're 3 years old, and have them graduate to counter-moves by the time they're out of their pampers. Kids gonna look like Ben Affleck, play like Kevin McHale, and run the floor like Usain Bolt :blessed:

I've been scouting my whole life. My evaluation skills are unparalleled. You AND the Knicks should hire me as a consultant. I know how to identify talent and lock it down. I'm marrying-UP. You can't even spot a pair of Spanx at the bar.

Ok but how are you using past years experiences to judge a new system and much changed team ? :patrice: and that other stuff really is unnecessary man you come off insecure as shyt trying to wave imaginary credentials around at the slightest thing

The idea is: Evaluating talent is evaluating talent. The rest was basically playing around with the idea of "going in the club and settling for 5's" as a misguided metaphor by some geek behind a screen.

Most of it is jokes... people on messageboards routinely mistake lots of words - for - lots of feelings.

As far as the Knicks go? I still don't think they have enough guys who can pass to consistently run the triangle successfully... and they will likely start 3-4 MINUS defenders, depending on who they start at SF and PF. Every guard on the team is an AWFUL defender, save Shumpert. And he has been average for two seasons... hopefully a full recovery gets him back to being able to hound guys. And in the front court, unless Acy is going to get 20-30 minutes a game, you don't have a single front court player rangy enough to defend a screen... any kind of screen.

They won't be awful, they'll play harder than last season... but there are very real limitations out there, and they are going to HAVE to pour it in from 3 to beat teams.

Carmelo Anthony is obviously the team's only certified All-Star. It's also no secret that Melo has to keep the ball moving, but he's committed to doing this. Passing has never been a great strength of his, but in the triangle he'll be able to have check-off reads like a quarterback looking for his first-option receiver, then his second and then his third. There'll be plenty of iso opportunities for Melo, and in the triangle it'll be very difficult for defenses to double-team him. It won't be like last season where he had to take clutch shots with a gang of defenders in his face. Also look for Melo to get a bunch of post-up looks."

Oh ok maybe I misjudged your post :heh: I thought you were being serious I don't really see you joking that much in here , you make fair points man . My biggest things from the preseason that jr/melo are passing like I wanted to see which is great . But shump :scusthov: and Timmy defense is still horrible which is worrisome . I can't see us being worse than last year but for now I'm scaling back my prediction of a top 4 seed until I can see someone else step up on the team , I am liking the ball movement they are trying though much more refreshing than last years
